Just watched the first season Highlander episode "Mountain Men". Interesting.
First season is a very different animal than 3 on (haven't seen any of 2 yet, and this is the first S1 ep I've seen -- I'm saving S1 ep1 for when I visit Kate & Jon next month). Very different feeling to the camera work, the editing, the pacing.
Only one flashback, but it established some interesting things, especially after watching "The Samurai" the other day. Duncan can no more not teach than he can not breath, I think. And is always learning as well.
Duncan certainly goes back to the land well -- I won't say feral, because there is far too much control, but the Aragorn-class land-awareness is nice. It was a little disconcerting to see Eddie get the drop on him though. Nice touch with tying up Joshua.
I really like that Tessa is strong, fiesty and thinks on her feet. Richie looks about 12 though.
There will need to be references to this, and to Carl in the current story.... Either a flashback/thinkback for Duncan or he tells M about it.
