🔔 UPDATED Policy 7:190 Student Behavior
On July 16, 2024, Board of Education approved changes to the personal electronic devices policy. All changes can be found in the Student Code of Conduct & Parent Handbook as well as in Policy 7:190 Student Behavior.
Students Become Teachers
Our middle school students got the chance to become the teachers to younger grades, teaching them lessons and learning techniques that work for them. Awesome to see the roles reversed!
Celebrating Black History Month
Our students are celebrating Black History Month by learning about important figures in the Underground Railroad.
Celebrating Hispanic Heritage
We wrapped up Hispanic Heritage Month with a celebration of music, language, and the arts — celebrating our cultures is a huge part of who we are at Johns Hill!
JHMS Students Perform with MU Ensemble
JHMS students had a special opportunity to collaborate with Millikin University’s Symphonic Wind Ensemble, rehearsing and performing for students during the day, then presenting a community concert the same night.
We Are Johns Hill Magnet School
Johns Hill Magnet School is the oldest magnet program in Decatur Public Schools, integrating arts into the curriculum and is home to the District's English language learners program.

Johns Hill Magnet School is one of three magnet schools in DPS, emphasizing multicultural experiences, with a focus on the visual and performing arts. JHMS is also home to the District's English language learners program.
