Xtremes from Final Fantasy XIV render
    The Xtremes

"The Mirror" is the boss theme of the AAC Heavyweight M2 AAC Heavyweight M2 raid, part of The Arcadion raid series from Final Fantasy XIV: Dawntrail. It is composed and arranged by Takafumi Imamura. The lyrics were written by Michael-Christopher Koji Fox, who was also the vocalist singing the lyrics from the perspective of Red Hot. The lyrics from the perspective of Deep Blue were sung by Ricardo Antonio Vilaró. According to Fox, "The Mirror" took inspiration from Blink-182.

    Lyrics

The official lyrics were released at the 2026 North American Fanfest. They feature two vocalists, representing Red Hot and Deep Blue.

    English
Up at dawn, I'm jumpin' outta bed (Outta bed)
I throw my baggies on, the water is callin'
Grab my board, my bag, I'm frothin' hard (Frothin' bad)
Offshores are blowin', swells are growin' real tall and
Into liquid, paddlin' to point break
Size the lineup, who's on my left, my right
Waitin' all day for that mack A-frame, now
Pop up, drop in, take off
    I'm on my way
    Fade, snappin', ridin' goofy foot
Stoked, slashin', yo we like it right off the hook
Off the deep end, throw some air to rock that perfect 10
Found the me that I want to be
Ridin' free, extreme, oh baby can't you see?
Cut the leash so I could breathe
And now in me I can believe
Look in the mirror, look in the mirror
Look in the mirror and tell me what you see
Found the me that I wanna be in the mirror
    Right where he oughta be
Carvin' up and down from trough to crest (Trough to crest)
I skirt the curtain, now I'm eyein' the barrel
Hangin' loose until I'm hangin' five (Hangin' ten)
I hit the lip and then I grab a rail!
In the pocket, you can't knock me off
Won't stop it, yeah I'm givin' all that I got
Smooth sailin', won't be ballin' 'til I reach the end
Found the me that I want to be
Ridin' free, extreme, oh baby can't you see?
Cut the leash so I could breathe
And now in me I can believe
Look in the mirror, look in the mirror
Look in the mirror and tell me what you see
Found the me that I wanna be in the mirror
    Right where he oughta be
    Standin' there
    Standin' there
    Standin' there
    I'm gonna be
    Standin' there
    Till the sun falls
    Standin' there, woah-oh
    Yo, Deep Blue
Ain't livin' 'less you're livin' on the edge, we're sayin', no
You can't be, won't be free if you let fear take ya
Got one chance y'all, and that's all
Find a wave that's breakin' and ride
    Let's ride
Being who we want to be
Ridin' free, unleashed, oh baby can't you see?
This ain't who we're gonna be
This is who we've always been
    Ridin' free, oh
    Ridin' so free, woah-oh
    Ridin' free, oh
    Ridin' so free, woah-oh
Found out who we wanna be
    In the mirror
    Right where we oughta be
    I'm standin'
    I'm standin'
    I'm standin'
    I'm standin' here
    I'm standin'
    I'm standin'
    I'm standin'
    I'm standin' here with you

The development team considered instead having Fox play the role of Deep Blue, and Vilaró play the role of Red Hot. In that case, the stanza beginning "Yo, Deep Blue" would have been replaced with:

    Yo, Red Hot
    All worried 'bout wipin' out
You stuck, you clucked, you hung up
Your knees weak, your mood bleak
Bro, you got to buck up
Go on stand up and man up
    Quick before your time's up
    And ride
    Just ride

"The Mirror" plays during the fight against Red Hot and Deep Blue, serving as their theme.

Parts of the theme are arranged within the Lindwurm's theme, "The Arcadion", which plays during the second phase of AAC Heavyweight M4 (Savage) AAC Heavyweight M4 (Savage), alongside the other themes in the Arcadion raid series that make up the medley.
