Jay Barnes is a deceased investigator found in one of the Ultra-Luxe hotel rooms in Fallout: New Vegas.
Background[edit]
Hired by an unnamed groom to investigate the disappearance of his bride at the Ultra-Luxe,[1] private investigator Jay Barnes was rented a room by the White Glove Society member Mortimer.[2]
He was given a matchbook by Chauncey,[3] who intended to meet with him at 4 p.m. in the bathhouse steam room.[4] However, he never showed up there, and instead perished in his hotel room.

Courier: "Just someone who found a matchbook."
