DW100 Challenge #100 – Fresh Start - U Rated – Any Doctor, Any Companion

She waved the Doctor goodnight and headed to her room for a few hours’ sleep. Exhaustion made it mercifully dreamless. Kept the monsters away. She’d seen more horrors, and more wonders, than any human should ever see in their lifetime.

She awoke to find him sitting at the end of her bed, grinning.

“Come on slug-a-bed! We’ve landed on Triagonal Alpha. The galaxy’s most amazing crystal waterfalls.” He held out a hand. “Come and see!”

What could she do but wipe the sleep from her eyes, take his hand and follow him into a new day. A new adventure.

I can still write drabbles! ("fresh start" challenge, no particular Doctor)

There is a certain rhythm to the Doctor’s life, after a number of centuries of living it. Perhaps it does not have a linear logic, the way so many of his friends, companions, would wish, but there is a circular cycle that he, at least, recognizes.

Companions come and they go, and each new meeting and leave-taking is both a beginning and an end. Each person sparks different ideas, different responses from him, and he knows that every time somebody leaves his company they never remain unchanged by the experience.

And so he always looks forward to the next meeting.
