Douglas Nyle Thomas (1929 - 2007)

Biography

Douglas Nyle Thomas was born on 20 Sep 1929 in Manila, Philippines, son of Naval Officer Douglas N Thomas and Norma Pinnock.

Nyle traveled to the United States with his mother and sister in 1931 from Manila to San Francisco, California.^[1]

The 1940 Census^[2] shows him at age 10 in the home of his parents in El Cajon, San Diego County, California. They lived in San Francisco, California in 1935.

Nyle received a presidential appointment to the United States Naval Academy,^[3] and graduated with the class of 1952.^[4] The motto of the Class of '52 is "Tough Shoes to Fill."

He married Dorothy Arnheiter (sister of classmate Marcus Arnheiter) on 7 Jun 1952 in Manhattan, New York City, New York.^{[5] [6] [7]}

Douglas was mentioned in the obituary of his father Cmdr Douglas N Thomas on 4 Nov 1978 in San Diego, San Diego County, California.^[8]

Nyle worked as a clinical hypnotherapist in Hawaii in 1997, and was an author. He was listed in the Honolulu Star-Advertiser in this way:

Douglas Nyle Thomas, Ph.D., Psychology; doctorate in Clinical Hypnotherapy (Board Certified); author, Dr. Thomas' Official Guide to Freedom, and Nobody's Fool. ^[9]

Douglas died at age 78, on 17 Jun 2007 in Nye County, Nevada,^[10] and is interred at the Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Boulder City, Clark County, Nevada.^[11]
