my hometown's representative in the state congress is a childhood friend of my parents' and family like i see him at barbecues and funerals and stuff and i think they dont abuse that enough like i think if you have a pre-existing personal relationship with someone holding office it's your right and your duty to waste as much of their time with petty complaints as you can regardless of whether the problem is actually in their realm of influence
like if a guy i'd gotten busted for smoking weed with in high school was now a Senator i would be calling his home line to hassle them minimum four times a week like "James, this depraved bastard just charged me $250 for an oil change I need you to disenfranchise him specifically and have his business demolished at your soonest convenience."
