11 multifandom icons for icontalking

icontalking was Guided By The Guide. I chose two very old guides from lj and followed them to make these icons:

accios' vibrant-yet-muted guide.
9-11 were made using![[livejournal.com profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/external/lj-userinfo.gif)
bijoou's guide for faded backgrounds (the Spike icon).
The former technique is really hard for me to get right. I think only icons 2 and 6 really came out with the right look. Maybe 7 as well. All the others are... eeeeeeh. I tried. I'll keep trying, I really love that look.
The latter guide was easier for me, and I like all three icons I made there. Although there, too, I think I should have been a bit bolder with the erasing.

on 2024-11-28 09:28 am (UTC)btw, my apologies, I discovered recently I seem to have somehow unsubscribed to you & I'd no idea! Anyway, I've fixed it now. idk whether I did something a while ago when I was organising filters or if it's been long enough that it was that weird unfollowing trick Dreamwidth used to do, but it certainly wasn't intentional!

Oh, this has happened to me before, too! The popup from the usericon contains an unsubscribe link, and I've managed to hit that at least twice with different people before (that I know of). I don't want to kill the whole popup, and I was too lazy to css the unsubscribe out of it so far.

Awww, thank you! They were all so much work and so much fiddling with a to me new technique, I really wasn't sure about anything anymore by the end. :D
How's the battle coming along? I've had a very, *very* stressful month, so I only have about half of them done so far. I still expect to be able to finish it next week, though.
Do you think I should post a reminder? It's not like I ever look at that comm, so I didn't think it would make sense. So far nobody has submitted, which is of course expected. But I did promise the participants a personal reminder before the end of the battle. If that's still the case by Friday, I'll probably do that either on Friday or on the Saturday of the deadline, in case anyone wants an extension.
