Voodoo is probably my top choice (myrrh, patchouli, vetiver, lime, vanilla, pine, almond and clove), but Leanan Sidhe ( Irish herbs and flowers, Gaelic mists, and nighttime dew) and Glasgow ( wild blackberry breezing over gentle rosy heather) are right up there, too. I wear those three the most. Which is sad, considering how many many many different scents I own!

I was going to take a picture at Staff Game Night, but forgot. So I took a picture of the train that stopped me twice today. But you're saved from that boring picture by Katie, my amazing switch witch, who sent me this fantastic package! 6 bags, 5 eggs and a Lush bomb. It's unbelievable. Check out the other pictures. I love it all so much! Thank you, Katie. :)

Outside thermometer says 90 in the sun. Insane! It's actually about 80, but the sun is hot.

My switch witch is totally awesome. And clearly reading my lj regularly! She bought me the Live and Acoustic Snow Patrol CD on iTunes last night. I am so excited. It's a great set, five songs, and I love them all. Definitely recommend it.

So last night I said goodbye to two fabulous shows. I finally watched Peacekeeper Wars - omg love. Made me cry. I can't believe John and Aeryn are done. :( But what an ending. Perhaps John will be able to regain a little bit of sanity now. *g*

I also watched the series finale of Slings and Arrows. Oh, I loved it. And the shows actually fit well together - both John and Geoffrey are finally going to get peace in their lives. As much as they can stand, anyway. <.g> I truly loved that show and I'm sad it's over. But I can't imagine a more perfect ending, really. Ames, up for another show? ;) Only 18 episodes this time! I feel the need to rewatch them all.

We found out this morning that Grandma has a bedsore. :( So she and dad are heading to the doctor this afternoon. She's been sleeping a lot lately, we think it's the new meds, and she normally sits all the time anyway. She doesn't like to move. Very sucky.

Okay, I need a shower and to head out.

Today is the day of icons! I uploaded 3 spring, 1 Josh Exley baseball (for my fantasy baseball team, The Ori. It's the will of the Ori that I take over completely, it's the luck of the Ori that I shall absolutely fail), and my switch witch made me this gorgeous BPAL one. Plus, of course, the change in layout to the cheery green.

I hooked up my new DVD player, but my TV lacks the necessary sound jacks. So I can watch The Sarah Jane Adventures, but not listen to them. LOL I think I'm going to go and download the Torchwood subtitles, and reburn my discs to include them. The user guide says that they'll play the subtitles on the .avis then, which would be fantastic. And then I can give the current ones to M and get the gossip from Ye Olde Workplace. Anyway, Dad thinks I need a new TV because this poor sad old one is kind of overwhelmed, but first, I'm checking Radio Shack to see if there a modifier to take the red/white cables and put them into the one jack my TV has. LOL

Meanwhile, I've gotten horribly addicited to Judging Amy, thanks to Tim Omundson. I was only going to watch an episode to see who he was, but I'm suckered in to the whole show. I actively did not watch it, I guess equating it with Touched by an Angel, but I was wrong. I admit this now, and watch most of the 10 hours it airs on TNT per week. LOL And Tim is awesome there, too. Only with fluffier hair.

I'd been wanting to order this at least a month before I actually did, so I was very very excited to finally have it in my hands! All along, I've been calling it the Blood Kiss order, because that was the one I wanted to try the most. Turns out, I like it, but don't love it. And the other one I really wanted, The Highwayman, I don't like at all. But Leanan Sidhe, the last minute "Oh, wait, I need a sixth imp!" addition, instantly became my favorite BPAL scent. It's light and herby, with a hint of floral and a tang of something citrus-like and I want to bathe in this scent, I love it so much. Go figure. *g*

Wheeeee, amazon says my Sims2 Seasons shipped and will arrive tomorrow!!!!! ::dances:: I can't wait!!!! Eeeeeeee!

Gilmore was fine, but....not standout. Again.

VMars! Dude, I called the killer. I am so proud of myself. It just clicked. And then I spent a good amount of time doubting myself but hee, I was right.

BBCA aired Parting of the Ways tonight. I was all blase, Daleks, whatever. Then went aww with the goodbye kisses. And then the "Have a fantastic life" scene came, and I was gone. It was sad and scary and oh, my Jack, I don't care that I know you have a show of your own, I hate watching the end. Sniffle sniffle sigh.

Yay, I got my CnS for my last BPAL package! I ordered it less than a month ago - I am so very pleased with the turn around they've gotten to. It's amazing!

I've been doing BPAL switchy stalking, too. I got my person and I can totally tell why we got matched, but it's very broad and we don't actually have much in common, even with that. LOL All of my ideas I had, I don't think she'd be keen on. I have some more ideas, though, and will need to get out and do some shopping. I think there's a store in town that will be good.

Slings and Arrows on my TV! Yay Sundance channel!

Also yay is Monarch of the Glen S6 for American pre-order. It's out May 15, perfect timing for spending birthday money.

I'm rather excited - for spring break, I'm going to do an American Girl tea party program. So far, I think we'll play a few games, make necklaces for girls and dolls, stencil stationery and, of course, have a tea party. With juice. *g*

Just realized why Andy on Studio 60 looks familiar to me - he's Richard on Slings and Arrows! Duh. Turns out he's also written for Studio60 (Nevada Day 1), Sports Night (the Orion ep) and S&A. He is totally awesome.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to do the BPAL Spring Switch Witch. I think it would be a lot of fun.

I have had this awful, awful achey headache all day and I am quite sick of it. I think it's not eating enough + not sleeping enough + not enough caffeine, but I'm not sure. I will try for an early night, though. I was so tired I almost cried yesterday, but still stayed up watching But I'm A Cheerleader last night. It was in the dark, lying down, so I did rest, and the movie was worth it, so much fun, but I was overtired so I couldn't fall asleep. We shall endeavor to avoid that tonight. Tomorrow I must finish researching, so I should hopefully be alive enough for that.

If you give me topics/subjects/categories/etc, I shall give you my top five of those topics/subjects/categories/etc.

I think I'm insane, but I'm actually considering the Picture is worth 1000 words challenge. I like that it's open for any fandom, and I like the seasons aspect. But 1000 words exactly might be too much of a challenge while I should be doing grad school stuff. So we'll see.

I got new sniffies today! Two are headed directly to the swap pile, but I love Seraglio. Mmmm, almondy. I also got a frimp of Come to Me, which amuses me. Now I want to pop in Schizophrenic!

Tomorrow I have a day off, alleluia. Sleep is always good. Plus I should probably clean off my floor so Nydia doesn't trip and break her neck while visiting me. LOL

I'm still wending my way through Sesas, and having a blast. I think this will be the first year that I don't get through all the nsyncs by the reveal, though. But I'm feedbacking a lot more, and getting more feedback, too. Granted, one was from my beta, but the first time since the first year, my recipient also said something. I'm glad for that. :)

Bah, should probably get rid of my Christmas icons. I shall miss them, particularly my Santa!McShep one.

And now, we meme:
Tell me of a fandom you know I know of and I'll tell you:

1. The character I first fell in love with:
2. The character I never expected to love as much as I do now:
3. The character everyone else loves that I don't:
4. The character I love that everyone else hates:
5. The character I used to love but don't any longer:
6. The character I would shag anytime:
7. The character I'd want to be like:
8. The character I'd slap:
9. A pairing that I love:
10. A pairing that I despise:

I won't list my fandoms, because that would take forever. And really, if you can't guess at even one, you probably don't care what I have to say on the subject, anyway. *g*

<.snortgiggle> My first John/Rodney, thanks to the drabble-matic.

The Miracle Of The Penguin )

And my second.

Rodney and John, by William Shakespeare )

Heh.

I've gotten several cards over the last two days - many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] dine, [livejournal.com profile] kaycee_a, [livejournal.com profile] akarui_sekai, [livejournal.com profile] saba1789, [livejournal.com profile] kinkykittens, and [livejournal.com profile] raaone. They are all lovely! My poor mother, though, going from Rachel's Brokeback Mountain comment to Dine's half naked angel man. <.snicker> And Saba, the postcard is SO cute!

Also in yesterday's mail, I got my Yule BPAL. Wheeeee! I wore Mistletoe yesterday. I *like* smelling like a christmas tree. LOL I liked Snow White, but it didn't have nearly enough scent. And was too pineappley. I can't wait until after christmas to try some of my many frimps - Dracul is, I think, going to be my favorite scent ever. And I never once would have tried it otherwise. Maybe I'll try Yuletide today.

Today is a good day. A very good day. I don't care that Noneck lost her mind and shrieked most of the day. I don't care that the rest of the kids joined her. I don't care that I'm joining SGA just as that one special person has asked Joe Flanigan about slash and the fandom has erupted. I don't care.

It's snowing! It snowed overnight, lightly, just enough to stay on and dust the tops of roofs and cars and such, but not the ground. All morning, little flurries have been swirling, blown every which way by the wind. Snow! The first of the season. So I came home and walked to Starbucks for a peppermint white hot chocolate for me, and a gingerbread latte for mom. It was a great walk, chilly and gorgeous. Snow!

Also, my autumn BPAL came. Yay sniffies! Yay!

Now to put up my blue and silver snowflake garland before work.
suzy_queue: Animated rain over a rainbow (Default)
And the library said, let there be money! And lo, there was. In my bank account. Yay payday! Yay direct deposit! So I came home and promptly spent $91 on BPAL.

Yuletide goodies )

And everything ended up that we're going tonight to the All Hallow's Eve. I'm excited, I guess. Had been looking forward to a warm and cozy night spent with the Brothers Eppes, but I can do that tomorrow night. It'll be fun. I've been looking forward to this for weeks. I just hate changing established plans. LOL

I better go find a Mountain Dew.

I love baseball. I love, love, love it. Go Astros!!!

Relatedly, I love Lance.* For both the Justin-buying and the $50,000 for the camp. Awesome.

BPAL Yule scents! I can't wait for some of these. I have 5 that I want, so I'll have to wait until Friday to order. Gah.

Did I mention Go Astros? Go Astros!

*I also love his checking account. $50,000 here, $30,000 for Justin. Mommy, can I have his checking account, too? I'll be a good girl!

I have SUCH a need to spend money. I've been so good for so long. LOL So I splurged on some new BPAL scents.

new goodies )

Biz, I think you'd love all the pumpkin scents they have for fall. And that all chocolate one. LOL

....I actually forgot what I meant to babble about. Things have popped into mind all day and now, nothing. Bah. Oh, well. I think I want to get these shoes. I like these, too. Mustn't get carried away with the buying of things, though. Perhaps they will wait two weeks until I get a paycheck.

I was slightly intrigued by Britney's new fragrance, until I read there was a hint of cupcakes in amongst the jasmine and musk. Seriously, WTF?

Cal's on a Christmas streak. He changed his wallpaper to Disney Christmas, just listened to a swing Silent Night, Chris Isaak's Rudolph and then *NSYNC's O Holy Night before going back to Hilary (not Christmas). LOL XM's OTR station is doing Christmas in July, which doesn't help. ("The weather outside is frightful, but the A/C is delightful.") I listened to Miracle on 34th St, and now A Daddy for Christmas. I'm curled up on the floor, in front of my OTR stand, with CSI on in the background. And Cal on my computer, of course. It's busy in here. Biz, this is the CSI we watched in May, with the melted body and bully death. *g*

Ooh, now it's Greer Garson in Suspence, the Christmas ep. Fab, man. Fab.

Rats, don't have adobe on here, so I can't read the xm schedule.

I read the JKR interview over at the Leaky Cauldron. Anvil sized hints! Heee! She's funny. I enjoyed the transcripts.

I'm wearing Embalming Fluid. Mom says I smell like Pledge, but I love it.

On Sunday, I bumped and dragged my suitcase down 8 flights of stairs because the wait for the elevator was that insane. I ended up with very sore and bruised knuckles for it. Now, that wrist is really, really sore and I can't support weight on it. Stupid hotel.

I'm in the midst of a fandom revival. Suddenly, I want more popslash. And Harry Potter. And still CSI. And Gilmore, but only in Sims. And, oh, I want to read LMM's Emily books now. I wonder if there's any good LMM fanfic. I remember a few from Yuletide. I want to write, but I want to read, too, and I want to read everything. I'm feeling very greedy about words right now.
suzy_queue: Animated rain over a rainbow (Happy Chris)
Does anyone else follow the comic strip Clear Blue Water? It's about the parents of five kids, two are newborn twins and the middle child has autism. Yesterday's strip had me laughing out loud. Probably only funny to those who have a kid (or sibling!) with special needs, but heh. It's funny because it's true.

I love the studio version of Chris's Who Am I. I can't wait for more!

I'm so excited about the second single for BSB! I love that song. I had to check my CD and see what song it was when I read the announcement, but yay! I love it.

My BPAL oils came today. Whooo! Of course the one I looked most forward to, Lady of Shalott, is the one I like least in the bottle, but who knows how it will smell on me. After sniffing them all a few times, I tried on Hollywood Babylon first. Yummy! I think I'll get a big bottle. It smelled like sweet cherries on me at first, and then the heliotrope came out when it dried. It's more sophisticated and subtle than I had anticipated, so it probably won't be the one I wear next weekend after all. Next try, VooDoo, the sexy orgiastic love potion or Kabuki, the complex cherry one.
