We just got offered tickets to the Pokemon Sun & Moon launch party next week, but it's the same night as the FFXV launch and we're more hyped for that. Oh well! It was a lovely thought, it's just an unfortunate coincidence of game launches.

We're also going to Hyper Japan next week! We haven't been to a Hyper Japan in years. I decided to splash out for a) priority entry and b) the sake cocktail event add-on tickets. I don't think we'll cosplay, but we'll see friends and drink some nice cocktails, so, hooray!

Pez also just surprised me with a trip to Iceland planned for just before Christmas (basically: we go to a Christmas dinner with friends in London and then head off northwards the day afterwards). We're staying in a pretty fancy hotel too, from the looks of it. I'm so delighted; I loved Iceland the last time I visited and am really pleased to go back. I'm looking forward to hot springs and to eating all the things (I was vegetarian last time) and also to trying to see the Northern Lights! But we might need to go buy some very warm clothing beforehand.

It's Friday! We've had a busy week at the shop. Today we finally got our first shipment of the Pokemon Go trainer hoodies (the yellow and the red ones) which look great and which we'll be putting up for sale ASAP. The blue ones are in production at the moment, but we'll have them for Expo.

What we'll also have for Expo are the shopfittings we wanted to display the wigs on (bought cheap on eBay) and also some shelving to put the stock on. We were contemplating shelving yesterday, and then our neighbours offered us precisely the right sort and amount of (nonstandard) shelving today at a low price because they were going to have to put them on eBay otherwise. This is more serendipitous than seems feasible to me, but I am absolutely not going to complain. We don't actually have space for the assembled booth shelving in our warehouse at the moment, but we'll want to take it apart for transportation to London anyway so I guess we'll pull it apart on Monday.

We have both managed to be good and go to the gym three times this week and last week, hooray for us. I feel like I'm getting stronger -- I put my weights up today again, in fact. The diet's not really happening (I'm not overeating, really, I'm just not eating low enough calorie levels to lose weight because food is tasty) but at least I'm getting fitter. My legs have been sore and crampy over these past two days, however, so I think I need to stretch more.

I lost a lot of Wednesday to a migraine that two rizatriptan only took the edge off, also. I may need to go make sad noises at my GP so we can switch me onto something that works a bit better.

Today we went pokemon hunting, up at the old Recreation ground. It was a bust for pokemon-hunting purposes (we scored ONE pikachu and nothing else worth the trip) and it rained but Pez and I nattered happily about AU stuff and had coffee and ice-cream in the little cafe and so, a good time was indeed had.

We wanted to get my meds, but the pharmacy didn't have it (I'll call and nag the GP on Monday). It's non-urgent, I have a week and a half of the bipolar meds left, though I don't have any migraine meds. On the way, we stopped via the big Wilkos in town and bought a bunch of domestic things we've been muttering about getting for a while -- a new lampshade for the bedroom, new cushions, ice-cube trays, more hangers, and so on. Invasion Colchester is on this weekend, so to get anywhere in town we had to wade through crowds of gawkers and people in costume (who we probably knew a fair chunk of, but didn't have the energy to engage with right then). And then we went home, with a brief diversion to let Pez catch a pokemon she didn't have.

On the journey back I caught up on twitter, thus learning that Masa (in my icon) has gotten hitched to a Takarazuka actress. She's quite a lot more famous than he is, I think. It's out of the blue publicly (because of course j-idols aren't allowed to officially have relationships, sigh) but from the sound of their announcements they've been together a while and are very smitten. I'm genuinely very pleased for him. I hope it's a long and happy marriage, and most of all I hope his fans don't decide they don't want to watch him dance or act any more just because he's married.

Tonight I spent futzing on the Sims while half-watching Star Trek:TNG on Netflix. I made a house from my fic, thus satisfying myself that the arrangement of rooms as I've described it could functionally exist in reality. I also discovered that -- as I'd hoped -- you can use the internal foundation structure to make a staircase with a turn in it partway up. Trying to furnish a properly nerdy house is hard, though -- all the bookcases look too library-collection-ish, and there's only one robot figure and one games console, and the piles of freestanding books are too weedy -- but it was fun anyway, and there's even sufficient space to accommodate many cats.

My main comment from TNG tonight is that Keiko O'Brien's wedding dress is awful, an insult against taste and decency on so many levels. Pink iridescent space fabric in a froofy, ill-fitted kimono-inspired thing. Fashion in the future makes me sad.
