Last year's plans for the year post was as interesting to me at the end of this year as the one from the year before was that time around, so I'm doing it once more!

Books and Manga. I plan on reading more Japanese literature (because I am on a big Tanizaki kick, for a start), and I want to read some Zelazny and some LeGuin, and I might try reading the Game of Thrones series (finally).

In manga, I'm still mostly reading scanlations online rather than buying actual physical volumes. I'll be continuing to read whatever people recommend me, I guess. I have Barefoot Gen on reservation at the library, for a start. And when it was mentioned that I have not read Angel Sanctuary, three people rushed to offer to loan me the entire series, so maybe that will happen also.

Videogames and other games. I need to finish The Last Story. I then have Epic Mickey, Nier, and Vagrant Story to play, and Xenoblade Chronicles and Pandora's Tower both look tempting. We'll see what else comes out--Dragon Age 3, maybe? And I want to play Persona 4, I think.

This year I will probably try and get together with some local friends for board-gaming; we've talked about it a few times.

Music. I'm pretty happy with my music situation; I'm accumulating new music here and there but I'm not feeling too much like I'm in a rut for once.

TV. How I Met Your Mother remains on my radar. Also probably any new Sherlock series. We're a series behind on Game of Thrones (we have it recorded, however). Not sure what else I'm looking forward to yet!

Anime-wise, we have a long list of shows to start on. Sword Art Online, Bakuman, Kuroko no Basuke and Magi are probably on the top of that list.

Film.Nothing I'm hugely looking forward to! That's a bit sad, really. Maybe Life of Pi.

Cons, events, travelling.Minami and Aya are definites for us (we have them booked already). Not sure what else we'll go to, convention/event-wise.

We are definitely going to try to get to Japan this year, assuming the political situation doesn't make that really awkward. It might be a good idea to go over to Hong Kong, too, to visit Pez's family. Not sure where else we'll go, if anywhere! Maybe back to Paris or to Italy (I'd like more leisure to explore Rome, or to get to Venice).

Cosplay. Definite plans: Togami from Dangan Ronpa (we have a group forming!), Therius from The Last Story (Pez has promised to help with the armour), and a clavat warrior from My Life As a King. I'll probably try to make Jean-Paulet from Resonance of Fate because Pez is making Zephyr and frankly barely any other characters a) would suit me and b) would be fun to do. We'll see who else looks tempting! I'd like to have a reason to reuse my Niou wig, so I might try and persude Pez to do a school uniform D1 photoshoot sometime.

Other. More exercise! Making more non-cosplay clothes. Finally eating pork. More Japanese learning, especially reading it (I want to try to play through one of the old Final Fantasy games in Japanese, for instance, and we have lots of japanese-language doujinshis, some videogames and some short stories for me to try to practise my reading on).

Overall plans: 2012 was pretty wonderful--I got married to a wonderful woman in a gorgeous ceremony surrounded by loved ones, I quit a stressful and tiring job in favour of something I am enjoying far more, I read and I exercised and I danced and I learned and I found new fandoms to adore and I hung out with awesome people. I want more of the awesome next year, please. I'd like to try to lose some more weight (sensibly). Otherwise, mostly, I want to hone my existing skills: I want to get better at making things, at writing and at dancing and at languages.
