Greetings, and welcome back to the Oceanview BACC! This week, Oceanview gets a couple of immigrants from my version of Veronaville. Those familiar with The Sims 2 will probably recognize their last name, but these two don't appear in the Maxis-made neighborhood.

Allow me to introduce Helena Capp and her husband Demetrius, who immediately started making out as soon as I loaded their lot. Two-bolt couples, tch, what can you do? They've bought a large plot of land near the waterfront, with space for the large, luxurious Tudor house they plan on building for their future family.

Now, once they break this little cannoodle-fest up, let's get their profiles!

So. Much. Money. )

Next time in Oceanview, we'll check in with our second ex-townie, Dominique Beaumont. I already have a few ideas for what to do with her week, and the builds for them should be a good bit easier than the ones I had to throw together for this entry. Until then, happy Simming!

Hello everyone! Many apologies for the delay in bringing you this chapter. Real Life suddenly dumped a whole bunch of stuff on me when I got a job, and another computer update resulted in the draft for this chapter being lost to the same wormhole as the first draft of one of the Oceanview BACC entries. It's taken me a while to sort through all my existing Uglacy material and get back into the game.

The reign of terror begins... )

Hello, friends! It's been a while between posts, hasn't it? Real Life has been a bit of a biatch lately... I have a job now, but it's retail, which leaves me feeling drained most nights when I get home. Hopefully I don't have to stay there too long before I can move on to better, less-physically-taxing things.

Last entry, Estella and Mark got married and welcomed Oceanview's first baby, the adorable Una Greene. They also made some career progress and contributed a nice little chunk to the university tax thanks to a lucky chance card. It was a pretty big week, and is going to be hard to follow up on. Thankfully, I've got a bit of help in that area, because we're now moving into the realm of new households!

At the suggestion of a few readers, I've decided to alternate between ex-townie and CAS households. Since there are 3 ex-townies and 2 new CAS families, that means we'll start off with one of Victoria's move-ins. Without further ado, let's jump back into the game!

Witches and robots and elves, oh my! )

Next entry, we head over to one of the CAS families, a pair of Sims I lifted from one of my other saves to give them a chance at striking out on their own. Until then, happy Simming!

Last entry, Victoria Star spent her Week 4 moving in townies, raking in money at her businesses, and becoming a witch, and ended the week with a sweet upgrade to her house. That much accomplishment makes her a tough act to follow, but I'm sure Estella is up for the task.

Suddenly family! )

Hello everyone! After getting thoroughly sidetracked by my Uglacy, I'm finally back in Oceanview! Well, actually I got distracted by the Uglacy somewhere in the middle of writing this week, and then the initial half-draft was lost when my browser decided it wanted to install updates REALLY badly and closed without my permission. It saved the draft of my next Uglacy chapter, but not the BACC one.

Anyway, let's take a look at Oceanview on the neighborhood screen!

There's still a lot of empty space, but the center of town is coming together with the help of Sim-owned businesses. I've also placed a few neighborhood decorations to help it look more natural, and added some lots for future move-ins (which I won't actually put in my lot tally until they're moved into and built upon). Finally, we have two new families in town, as indicated by those new Plumbobs over still-empty lots! I'll wait until their weeks to introduce them, though... for now, let's check in on our founder!

So much business... )

Again with the Uglacies... yep, I really just can't tear myself away from them. That and these pictures actually cover relatively short periods of my Sims' lives, given that I take so many of them. Their antics are just so amusing, and I love the stories that come of them.

Last time, the Uglacies welcomed the last baby of Generation 3: Rose Uglacy, named for the legendary Sue Rose Potter. I doubt she has a chance at the heirship, but I'm still hoping for her to grow up into a little meanie so that we can see some shenanigans from her. Plus, it's nice to get more Uglacy girls in here; they were quite boy-inclined before Hargrid started having kids.

Rose also has the distinction of technically being a dhampir, although since this is Sims 2, that doesn't actually get her anything but bragging rights. The vampire thing is why she's getting handed off in this picture; the sun is about to rise, and Contessa Marjorie needs to get in her coffin.

Warning: AAAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH! )

Hello, everyone! Guess who just moved into Downtown Uglacyville to watch the madness unfold firsthand?

It's my Simself, plus a Sim version of my cat! I could never let my Simself go without her sweet kitty. I even boolpropped their relationship bars up to 100, because I am definitely her human in real life.

Stats-wise, I'm a Knowledge Sim, with a personality allocation of 4/5/3/5/8: kind of sloppy, not particularly shy or outgoing (I hate social situations, but can fake it), lazy, not particularly serious or playful, and nice. That makes her an Aquarius, but I cheated it to Virgo, because that's what I am in real life. LTW rolled as Become Mad Scientist, which I'm cool with because there's no LTW to write a certain number of novels or anything else that would suit me better. Predestined hobby is set to Film & Literature, and primary interests are Food, Culture, Environment, Entertainment, Scifi, Animals, and School; major dislikes are in Sports and Fashion. Athena, my kitty, is a Genius, Independent, Lazy, Aggressive, and Finicky, which apparently makes her a Virgo pet. She's interested in food, scary things, and outside, but has little to no interest in toys or playtime.

I've set them up in style Downtown, in this ultra-modern house right by the crashed alien spaceship. Here, they can watch the insanity unfold without having to live in the ugly landscape of the main neighborhood. Besides, I'm a total city-slicker; being without my modern conveniences turns me into a nervous wreck.

Warning: Terrifying Smustle Faces beyond this point. )

Greetings, my friends! I think I'm as surprised as you are with how rapidly these updates are coming... I just can't seem to tear myself away from these amazingly ugly Sims. They're way too much fun to play around with and mercilessly laugh at.

Last chapter, the Uglacies welcomed this little freak of nature: Renesmee Uglacy, named after the infamous half-vampire daughter of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen. A terrible name from the worst book of a terrible series, as befits my Uglacy, where all members of the bloodline are to be named after characters from bad books and fanfic.

If you're wondering why Dick is snuggling this child, then I'm both amazed and horrified to report that it's not because I'm forcing him too. Dick genuinely seems to like Renesmee, which is fitting now that I can see her personality. She's hellspawn, people: full outgoing and zero nice. Her cousin Br'yan is just antisocial; Renesmee here is actively mean. Dick has no Nice points either, so of course he and the little antichrist bonded.

And now, we shall press on, for there will be another alien in this house soon enough. I really don't think he or she can possibly be as ugly as Renesmee, though.

Warning: Renesmee is still hideous, guys, she's so hideous I can't even. )

Greetings, my lovely readers, fellow Simmers and friends I pester with these pictures alike! When we last left off, Hargrid had just graduated from college, and was headed back to the home lot because I promised to fix the PREP CLOTHZ he aged into (though really, he moves back in because he's the heir and I control where he lives).

The Casteroff Dormintory has now been left in the capable hands of Kieran the Clone, shown here doing the smustle with his fellow Secret Society dormie. He's a zombie made from the same premade Maxis dormie who became Don the Zombie, hence the "clone" bit of his name. Because I have no20khandouts, he also ended up with half the hard-earned money that Hargrid got at college, so our heir only comes home with about 15k Simoleons. How did he get that much, you ask? Well, a combination of large grants for the A+'s, and a lot of masterpieces and novels. I didn't mention them in the last chapter, but he wrote two other books besides "poemz dat r deep" and "poemz dat r dark". They were also poetry collections, titled "poemz dat r goffick" and "poemz dat r dprzing". I had him bring them home in his inventory so that the Uglacies can read them for generations.

Now, without further ado, let's see our heir return home!

Warning: THE ALIENS MADE IT BAD, GUYS. SO BAD. )
snarkbotanya: My spitefic character Vanora as she appears in later chapters post-haircut, looking annoyed. (Default)

Last time, Hargrid was chosen as the heir, Grignr grew up and got married, and both Hargrid and Dick got abducted by aliens. This week, Hargrid goes to college and Grignr gets to make an ugly baby or two while he's away. So let's get cracking!

Warning: Sims beyond this point may induce nausea. )

When last we left off, our two potential heirs had just hit teenhood and I couldn't decide which one was uglier. Thus, I started a poll on the Boolprop forum, and shoved pictures in the faces of friends and family members to get their opinions. It's only been a couple days, but I think we have some... interesting... results.

You ready, boys?

"i guesz. so whoz the air?"

"Me, of course! I am the firstborn and strongest, and I will grant this bloodline many heirs!"

Slow down, boys! I'm getting to the results now. Let's start with the Boolprop poll. As of this writing, it had 4 votes...

"...all for me, the true heir to the Uglacy throne! Raise it upon the dias, for I will be your sovereign!"

No, Grignr. It was a tie: 2 votes for you, and 2 for Hargrid.

"A tie? But wht happenz f derz a tie?"

"We wrestle like Ecordian warriors, and the winner receives the heirship!"

No, Grignr, we turn to the friend-and-family votes, which were far more decisive. In fact, they came through in a landslide of 6 votes to 1, and the heir they chose is...

Warning: ugly abduction face pictures beyond this cut. )

Time to check back in with the Uglacy family! I really have too much fun torturing Dick Uglacy with his sick joke of a life... it's funny in an evil kind of way. I'm also looking forward to seeing how ugly Grignr is when he hits teenhood... and what Baby #2 looks like.

Warning: Sims beyond this point may induce desire to tear one's own face off. )

I believe I mentioned in the first chapter of my Oceanview BACC that I was writing an Uglacy, or at least considering it. Well, the situation is a little complicated. I got one Uglacy off to a pretty good start, but as it goes on I'm losing steam a bit. Perhaps it was getting the Gen 2 couple to produce so many babies... the spouse was a Family Sim who wanted to marry off six children, and I kind of wanted to see what all those kids would look like.

It turned out she had a broken face, so her kids all looked surprisingly decent until they turned into adults. It was incredibly frustrating.

So, I decided I would start anew: clone the founder, make a new neighborhood, and take a real shot at this Uglacy thing. I'm not really going for legacy points so much as genetic experimentation, hence the name. Like Candi0207, the original Uglacy player, I want serious mutations.

To give you a preview of what you can expect from this... here's what the Gen 2 heir from the practice run looked like.

He totally rocked that evil mastermind outfit. If this Uglacy produces Sims half as mutated as him, I think it will be a success. The best part? His mother was a DownTownie, so she's going to be in this game, unlike the default townies I've modded out to be replaced with randoms. I may marry her in again...

But enough planning, let's get Simming!

Warning: Sims beyond this cut may cause ocular bleeding. )

Last episode, I got my first truly profitable business off the ground with Victoria's clothing store. In this entry, I apply that magic to Estella. She's struggling a bit after her first week, so let's hope we can rake in a bit of cash.

Our first order of business is getting Estella enough cash to buy a community lot. This is going to take a lot of fish.

Everyone loves Estella. Seriously. )

For this entry, I had to do some reading-up on Open for Business. I'm still not entirely certain how it all works... but Victoria's lifetime want depends on my figuring it out.

I think I finally figured out OFB, guys! )

Last time, we showed Oceanview's second week of existence from the perspective of its founder, Victoria Star. Now, however, we're going to delve into a new, less stone-faced perspective. Without further ado, let's head over to that nice little house wth a pond that we saw from neighborhood view!

I suppose you could call it... the GREENEHOUSE! )

I know it's only been a day since the last post, but since I'm both a rampant Sims addict and a very fast typist, some incredibly short gaps are just inevitable. Hopefully this makes up for the also-inevitable point at which I get distracted by something and then crawl back to this project with apologetic puppy eyes.

Music and stoicism... )

My tendency to take on projects has struck hard lately, because I felt the urge to begin an Uglacy, an Apocalypse Challenge, and a Build a City Challenge all around the same time. Because I have little in the way of self-restraint, I went and started them all. The others will be posted eventually... but as for writing them up, I'll start with the Build a City Challenge, because that will probably be the biggest, most time-consuming one.

I start with a custom terrain template that I made quite a while ago after impulse-buying SimCity 4 purely to make custom terrain templates. The template is called Oceanview, and though I toy with changing it, I can't really think of anything clever, so I guess I'm stuck with it. Oh well; in a few installments I won't be able to think of it as anything else.

This neighborhood, by the way, is not going to contain any of the default townies, because I've taken basically every route possible to get rid of them. I like having my neighborhood populaces be distinguishable from that of Pleasantview. You can also expect the names to be a bit less repetitive (though perhaps a bit... posh-sounding), because I've made a custom namelist. So yes, I am playing with mods. The vast majority of them are purely cosmetic (including a genetic-level reshuffling of my own creation), or bug fixes. I don't think this should be an issue, however, since I've seen other BACC's using ACR.

(No, I myself will not be using ACR. You will quickly notice that I have a very micromanagey playing style, highly incompatible with autonomy-increasing mods. It also feels a little sleazy to me. Yes, I'm one of those players who politely looks away when their sims are "doing WooHoo".)

But I digress. We're here to start the Build a City Challenge, and I still need to introduce you to the founder!

A star in the making... )
