I've continued to be very absent lately still dealing with moving + visa planning, so if I've missed replying to something important please feel free to poke me. I think I'm across the essentials, but argh and hair tearing and etc. We got the mega joy minor heart attack experience of discovering they couldn't connect fibre internet in our new flat atm (full exchange cabinet sadface) and trying to work out what other connections are available to us vs. what speed The Girl needs for after hours work vs. fuck how many things do we need to reschedule to the alternate flat that we need to find if this won't work. It will, thank goodness, but it's just the latest in a long string of unexpected hiccups. I am feeling a little tested by the universe right now, heh.

In the midst of the madness, however, worldbuildingex happened hee. Again, my fic fought me more than I expected, and again I enjoyed the whole thing immensely once I finally wrestled it into submission. It's still a lovely little stretch exchange for me given my usual focus on ships, and I had a lot of fun again.

I didn't get time to promote it but I received the lovely Inspection by VampirePaladin (The Last Witch Hunter), and just oh gosh, you guys, this movie. I have so many backstory and worldbuilding wants for this movie, and it's such a joy to get another gift exploring it more \o/

I also wrote (well, finished, I have half a WIP treat somewhere) my first DISCO fic! About Captain Killy and the missing scenes that are the start of her surviving-the-Klingons!adventure, and all those annoying Starfleet people who want to help her, in the Prime Universe.

• My bush tomatoes have started producing fruit, my tomato vines have doubled in height though no fruit yet, my bean bushes are beautiful and leafy and about 2/3rds of their max height so I'm hoping the baby bean pods will start maturing properly soon, I'm super addicted to cooking with herbs I just picked, and the only current mega downside is that my black peppermint has a pernicious case of spider mites and is driving me up the wall. I suppose if I decided to stop bothering to try and completely rid the rose of blackspot, something else was obliged to rise up and take its place...


• Photography is going well, writing is going really, really well, our rental lease is apparently being extended another twelve months yay, I still haven't seen Wonder Woman (I know, I know) but I should be doing so tomorrow, and life is good


• We are a few short weeks from the one year anniversary of arriving in London and it's all gone so fast and is so good and we don't want to ever leave even with Theresa May running around being a colossal and infuriating idiot and just. A year. How did that go by so fast?


• Not sure when I'll be around more posting wise. By the time I deal with offline life and all of the above I seem to always be shorter on time than I want to be. But I am around, I am alive and (usually) reading my list, and PMs and comments and email are always open if you want me.

I am behind on my feed and comments (sorry if I owe you a reply!) but I am feeling human again and I have a half clean house (goal to get it scrubbed shiny clean by tomorrow because our real estate is finally fixing some things \o/ praise be) and a semi-refreshed collection of icons and I'm killing my dragcave holly contest goals, so y'know. Not so bad really.
