It's Always More Complicated

Think I mentioned a while ago that the Hepworth in Colour exhibition was forthcoming, and then it somewhat slipped our minds until we were recently reminded of it, so we booked tickets to go and visit it this afternoon.

The Courtauld these days (I remember when it was in Bloomsbury) is in Somerset House in what was erstwhile the Royal Academy, back in the day, and the signage keeps reminding one of that august history....

Anyway we had a nice walk through Embankment Gardens to get there.

And as far as Hepworth exhibitions go, it is on the smaller side, though perhaps a bit larger than the one we went to last year and including paintings.

Some very lovely things, I am annoyed that the site doesn't seem to have images of two stunning marble pieces. There were several of this in different sizes from very bijou upwards.

We also took a turn around the open galleries, which include a selection from the Barber in Birmingham as well as their own collections.

May go back on some other occasion for the Escher exhibition, located in the Embankment Galleries in a different wing.
