Nintendo Selects
Nintendo Selects[nb 1] was a marketing label used for commercially successful Nintendo games that were re-released at a reduced price. The label was introduced as Player's Choice in 1996 for Super Nintendo Entertainment System games,[1] and was later used for Game Boy, Nintendo 64, Game Boy Advance, and Nintendo GameCube games. With the introduction of the label to Wii games in 2011, it was renamed Nintendo Selects;[2] this branding was later used for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U games.
Four Animal Crossing games were re-released as Player's Choice or Nintendo Selects titles in certain regions: Animal Crossing, Animal Crossing: City Folk, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and Animal Crossing: New Leaf – Welcome amiibo.

The Nintendo Selects version of New Leaf – Welcome amiibo was the only version of the game released physically in North America.
Although New Leaf – Welcome amiibo never received the Happy Price Selection branding in Japan, it was priced the same as one (2,700 yen).[12] Additionally, the standard version of the game was re-released on January 1, 2018 as part of a double pack with the Happy Price Selection version of Tomodachi Life.[13] |
