Teyla, crowned with roses
Sep. 13th, 2020 05:31 amI started this as an attempt to paint in a different style (more loosely), using as a reference a random model from a free pic site. it was also just supposed to be a standard flower crown pic. But the damn thing had a mind of its own and turned into a surreal pic of Teyla, in my usual style.

Pattern Ladies Art
Mar. 25th, 2020 06:20 pmFiddling, or rather, arting, while Rome burns, but whatever. It's a coping mechanism! I made these across the past week, and finished the second one way too late last night after getting caught up in a marathon painting session (those patterns are fiddly and I listen to podfic while doing them). I need to get a bit more structure into my days, not let myself slide off into utter chaos.
Anyway, these pics resulted from doing a "Pattern Ladies" Skillshare class by Alison Kolesar - (you have to join Skillshare to do it, but I think the first month's free.)

homemade2homemade craft exchange. I made paper art - I was going to make postcards of the combined pic as well, but I discovered that the post office doesn’t like homemade postcards due to the rigid requirements of its automated franking system.
Tielan likes strong women - I know her as a Teyla fan from SGA. So I painted watercolour pics of three warrior women Tielan had mentioned were faves, framed them, and made a combined digital print of all three together, also framed. (I’ve posted that pic to AO3 here). Here are the three framed portraits and the bonus combination print. I painted the frames in a range of colours that matched colours in the art. Each of the main portraits is about 8 inches tall. Click on the thumbnails for the full pics.
