"Die Hard" on a battleship, with a touch of "Dr. Strangelove". This is one of the earlier (and better) Die Hard rip-offs, and while Steven Seagal's Casey Ryback is not nearly as interesting as John McClane, the tension and violence deliver. Seagal's best by a long shot.

"Mean Girls" meets "Groundhog Day". An interesting concept with a teenage girl who seems to have the perfect life until she has to relive the day she dies in a car accident. Unfortunately, the movie doesn't explore this opportunity as much as it should, following too many stereotypes and standard plot devices. And the ending, though fitting with the original novel, comes out of nowhere and feels unnecessary.

It's cheesy, it's stupid, it's self-aware, but it's a great pleasure to see. A young Kristen Stewart having a lot of fun is always nice to watch. The rest of the cast are enjoying themselves too, not even caring about the script.
