Shantherin th'Clane was a famed Andorian thaan serving in the Federation Starfleet during the late 23rd century.

Biography

Th'Clane joined the crew of the USS Enterprise circa 2271, after it had returned from its five-year mission under the command of Captain James T. Kirk. He was assigned to Security, and was considered by Security Chief Pavel Chekov to be one of his best hand-to-hand fighters. (TOS novel: Ex Machina; DTI novel: Forgotten History)

Legacy

Th'Clane would be remembered for great bravery during his Starfleet career. Prior to 2376, Therin Park, (DS9 - Worlds of Deep Space Nine novel: Andor: Paradigm) in the city of Laibok on Andor, was named after him, as was New Therin Park in the city of Lor'Vela. (TNG - Typhon Pact novel: Paths of Disharmony)

In addition, by 2382, th'Clane had become the namesake of an Andorian Imperial Guard warship, the IGW Shantherin th'Clane. (TTN - Titan novel: Fallen Gods)

Alternate timeline

In an alternate timeline where Vulcans remained a violent and emotional species, Crewman th'Clane served as a lowly waste reclamation technician on the Interstellar Union starship IUES Kumari II at some point before 2293. (Myriad Universes - Shattered Light novel: The Tears of Eridanus)
