Music swap.

Let us swap the music. What's stuck in your head at the moment?

Miyavi - Ame ni Utaeba : For some reason no other Miyavi song is uploading right now. Watch this space for more! Anyway, it's rainingish today, so this song seemed appropriate.

Miyavi - Taritaritara : And some more Miyavi at last. Thanks, yousendit.

Nana Mouskouri - Early One Morning : Stuck in my head. Will never not be. Ouch. Early one morning, I heard a maiden calling.

Garmarna - Euchari : Garmarna is amazing and this might be my favorite Garmarna song, since I accidentally bought their CD at a viking exhibit when I was in the eleventh grade.

Garmarna - Transpolska : Really, Garmarna is amazing!

Romeo & Juliet - Theme : Great for writing in a bathtub. That much I know.

So! Songs! Stuck in your head! Right now! Share!

Music for a while?

There's three CDs of music on this laptop and that's because they're the only CDs I didn't forget back at the dorm. Since I'm heading off tomorrow for parts unknown -- er, I mean, my mother has finally caved, allowing me to be a big ol' growned up by attending blackholly's New Year's Eve Extravaganza -- I realized "My goodness! I should probably have more music on here so I don't play the same song over and over again and either lose my mind or force someone to put me out of all our misery!"

So that this isn't just a pathetic plea for the road-trip musics or your favorite song of the moment or something fun and catchy or sad and sweet, I bear some musics myself in exchange!

Nada Surf - Inside of Love
I'm on the outside of love, always under or above

Nada Surf - Paper Boats
As the express train passes the local it moves by just like a paper boat

Nada Surf - Blizzard of '77
But in the middle of the night I worry, it's blurry even without light

Nada Surf - The Way You Wear Your Head
Don't push me cause I'll fall in love with whatever you just said

Regina Spektor - Us
They built a statue of us the tourists come and stare at us

Regina Spektor - Ne Me Quitte Pas
And if you are a deity of any sort then please don't go

Regina Spektor - Somedays
Some days just aren't yours at all, they come and go like someone else's days

Imogen Heap - Come Here Boy
It's dark in here, visions are flashing into my head as I reminisce

Okay -- now it's a pathetic plea for music. Pathetically please?

Okay, quick, how does one feel better when one has a cold other than "wait it out"?

You know what, the common cold isn't taken as seriously as it should be. I declare war on the common cold starting tomorrow, once my head isn't a giant snotbag with the occasional, very miserable, hole.

Last night, snotbagged as I was, I went to the Bowery Ballroom with orangeaddict for a night of live music and emo glasses. We saw The Gravel Pit, Say Hi To Your Mom and Nada Surf*. It was incredibly...incredible.

Therefore, I thought I might pull myself out of my snothole and recommend a few songs from last night, as snagged from the artists' websites.

The Gravel Pit -- Baby Gap
Say Hi To Your Mom -- Yeah, I'm In Love With An Android
Say Hi To Your Mom -- Hooplas and Circus Tricks
Say Hi To Your Mom -- Let's Talk About Spaceships

And of course everything by Nada Surf like ... ever, but I don't have any links for them readily available. If you can find an mp3 of Inside of Love lying around, or snag their CD Let Go from iTunes or something, definitely have a listen; it's one of my favorite songs in the world and I'd love to share it with you, or know what you think of it, blah blah sneeze.

Now I'm off to shove tissues up my nose and weep. Weep! (By weep I mean "Ooooooooooze.") Help me. :(

PS - Flight of the Conchords are amazing, too.

*My dad does work for Matt Caws of Nada Surf, which means I've been a Nada Surf fan since my father passed on a copy of their 2002 album Let Go to me; the only reason I got to go is that Matt Caws, through the request of my most wondrous paternal unit, put me on the guest list for last night.
