I left someone's house today because of their son's nastiness, I said I would take a bus home rather than take a ride home from him. I think it was more than the current event that made me do that, taking a ride from a jailbird is one thing I will try to never do again. You don't know who to trust as I proved to myself. So possibly a case of closing the barn door after the horse is gone, but it really really bothered me that he was standing there yelling at his mom. Also he kept mentioning money, more or less. Not while he was yelling at her, just at times when he wasn't, it seems like he looks to her for money.
She said if she could she'd go right to the retirement home, if she could afford it.
I still feel like I was a coward and not supporting her, though I keep going back and forth on that and I think this is what my program tells me to do.
Funny that we had a meeting on Tuesday on Respect, and Communication. The respect was not just about wanting respect but that we have to give it. A lot in the mtg. also happened to revolve around expectations about kids--when they should move out of the house, what their responsibilities are.
