Guest Designer Jo M

You may remember the first of Jo Ann Minvielle's patterns to be posted here on hp_paperpiecing back during the Beedle The Bard Design Challenge, Babbity Rabbity's Stump.

She's designed quite a number of hew own HP patterns as well as some for a Lord of the Rings quilt she's working on. She's generously shared her take on the classic snitch for your enjoyment.

What's more, she's already finished one HP quilt, previously posted with Tuesday Photos.

I open at the close

Wood reached into the crate and took out the fourth and last ball. Compared with the Quaffle and the Bludgers, it was tiny, about the size of a large walnut. It was bright gold and had little fluttering silver wings.

"This," said Wood, "is the Golden Snitch, and it's the most important ball of the lot."

Challenge & TLC Craft Along
Last week, I posted the new challenge, A Very Harry Holiday. Included in that post was information about The Leaky Cauldron's craft along to make an ornament for Leaky Manager Doris, who lost all of her worldly belongings to Hurricane Ike. The Crafty Witches now have an address for you to send to.

Swap Angels Needed
birthday_blocks is a year-long swap in which each member makes quilt blocks for the other members during the month of that person's birthday. Unfortunately, a few members have disappeared or not followed through and the moderator, our own hardhatcat, is looking for volunteer swap angels to fill the void. There are a number of participants in birthday_blocks from hp_paperpiecing, including myself, which is why I am sharing this information here today.

If you think you might be interested in helping out, all the details are here.

See you next week!

One is the loneliest number...

Oh no!

You-know-who stole the "V" patterns for this week! Never to be one to surrender, Harry has come through for us with an iconic image. He and I both hope you like it. Look for "V" to be posted next week.

Two patterns this week!

As I mentioned yesterday, I thought I'd add a bonus pattern today. If you're planning on using your blocks to make a quilt, I thought it would be fun to spell out "Harry Potter" and anything else you might like. I'm starting today by adding uppercase "H" (newly edited this morning!) as the bonus pattern. Next week, we'll have lowercase "a" and so on.

And now, for some truly Potterish squares!
