Wednesday Posts As I mentioned last week, there will be some changes in hp_paperpiecing this year.
A big thank you to everyone that filled out the poll. Your feedback makes me feel much more confident about moving forward and has really helped me decide how to best keep the group going without overtaxing myself or boring you!
There will continue to be a Wednesday post every week and there will be a pattern included. I will try to post at least one new pattern every month, but Wednesdays will also include Guest Designed patterns, revisits to older patterns and include Challenge posts with pattern links.
Several of you mentioned that you'd be happy to have the new patterns slow down a little bit to give you a chance to catch up. I'm happy to hear that because it takes a lot of pressure off of me knowing that slowing down will help you, too!
Monthly Prizes The monthly prize will continue as it has in the past, with every person that shares photos for the Tuesday Photo posts during the month eligible for a drawing to win a pack of fabric. In addition, I will include Guest Designed blocks that you make in the drawings for this year, something I haven't done in the past.
The January pack is being assembled and I'll will post a photo of that when I have it all together. I'd like to continue including a button this year. In the past, I've shared an "icraft Harry" button. I've got a new design percolating in my brain and think it's about time for a quilt-specific button!
I've also acquired a new batch of jelly bean fabric to include with the prize pack so that monthly winners will have what they need to make the Bertie Botts block, the only pattern I've designed that needs a specialty fabric.
I've added the feed from the flickr group to my rss reader, so if you add your pictures to the group, you no longer have to email and let me know, though you are still welcome to do so. If your flickr username is different from your LJ username, please let me know or make a comment on your photo so that you receive proper credit.
Challenge Prizes So far, the Challenge Prizes have all been provided by me. If you have an online store, do commissions, etc. and would like to share a prize in return for advertisement on this group, I'd be happy to work that out with you. This is not a solicitation for prizes from individuals. You all do enough for me and hp_paperpiecing without having to invest financially in prizes, though I know at least a few of you would do it if I asked, and I thank you for that. ;) I will continue providing prizes whenever another option is not available.
I think that's it for now! Look for the first Challenge post of 2009 tomorrow!
Each month, one hp_paperpiecing member receives a bundle of fabric in a random drawing out of my own stash. All you need to do to participate is to make any pattern posted on </a></b></a>hp_paperpiecing at any time, then post a link to your photos in the comments or email them to me. Please note that if you post your photos on your blog or on another group, you'll still need to leave a comment with a link or I might miss them.
Congratulations, lilyshay! You'll receive a pm from me about your prize. Thanks to my darling daughter for choosing this month's winner!
2009 The little group I started here in August 2007 has grown and grown since then. I'm looking at doing some changes this year so that I can keep the group up and attend to my other obligations as well as I find myself shorter on time now than I ever have before.
hp_paperpiecing is very important to me, so I will do everything I can to keep the group on track while my schedule gets tighter. What this means is that I may post less new blocks. I'm not quite sure how this will work yet.
You are the reason I post patterns here, so I would love your opinion on this.
Here are some of the ideas I've had to keep the group rolling. Feel free to check the ideas you like and add new ones in the comments. I'll take from here whatever seems will work best with my schedule AND be best for the group.
