hey! firstly, i’d like to address your comment about ADHD not being classified as a learning or developmental disorder. actually, it is a developmental disorder:

it’s not a learning disorder by itself, but it can definitely cause learning disorders:

so with ADHD being a neurodevelopmental disorder that has a huge spectrum, ranging from functional to disabling, yes it does fit into the category of “neurodivergence that people have historically been called stupid for”. personally, i don’t use it ever, at all, mainly because it was what i was called for a really long time due to my disability (ADHD; mine’s on the more disabling end rip). i don’t feel empowered using it whatsoever and i know a lot of people who’d be hurt if they heard it.
so long story short, i don’t use it and i don’t ever want to hear it, even from other neurodivergent and disabled people. i think it’s safe to ask people’s comfort level with sensitive words like that! i appreciate your ask and i hope this is enlightening. stay safe and take care, friend!
