As anyone who has the misfortune of following me on Tumblr can attest, I'm really going to miss this show.

The last episode, while not my favourite 30 Rock episode by a long-shot, did a wonderful job of giving all the characters the closure they deserved.



Goodbye, Liz Lemon. I will miss you (you too, Jack, but not as much as Jonathan will).

I didn't get a chance to watch Thursday's 30 Rock and Elementary episodes until today, because I spent the weekend with my dad, and I didn't bother to bring my laptop since he doesn't have wifi.

Anyway, while I was visiting him, something miraculous occurred: I found a coat that fit me. That has literally never happened to me before. I was resigned to never wearing anything but unisex ski jackets for as long as I lived, since women's jackets refuse to fit my (apparently) mannish back, but I've now found a brand that accepts that women can have broad backs too. The downside is that it's Norwegian, and that they don't have a webshop, but hey, having to travel to Norway every time I want a new jacket is a small price to pay for looking fabulous.



The chain's called Vivikes, and it's my new best friend.

I still really love Elementary. Joan Watson is well on her way to becoming one of my favourite characters in any medium (she's already my favourite Watson - sorry Jude Law!Watson), and this Sherlock is actually pretty adorable. Where BBC!Sherlock is a sulky teenager, CBS!Sherlock is more like a kid; obnoxious to be sure, but still malleable and well-meaning. On a really shallow note, visually speaking, the title sequel is cool as hell (I'm linking to my reblog of it rather than the original post because my layout is less distracting).

I'm both excited and sad about 30 Rock. Excited because I watched the season opener today and it was AMAZEBALLS, sad because now there are only 12 episodes left before it will be over forever. I'm going to miss this show so much. :(

Apart from that, I haven't been watching much, although I did sit through The Big Fat Quiz of the 80s/90s/00s. 80s was pretty boring, to be honest, but the 90s quiz was hilarious, much thanks to the inclusion of the terrifying crime against nature that is Mr Blobby.



The 00s quiz was okay. I happen to really like Richard Ayoade, but he's always insufferable when he's paired with Noel Fielding.

(I debated with myself whether or not to post this behind a cut, but it's just a throw-away gag from an episode filled to the brim with throw-away gags so I don't really see the harm.)

It should also be noted that Liz didn't have time to think of a plan B for her career because she was too busy commenting on The Amazing Race forums, and that she has "male centaurs kissing" in her Google history. It's safe to say we can claim her as one of our own. ;)

So I watched The Tuxedo Begins yesterday (which was awesome, in oh so many ways), and since then I've listened to Empire State of Mind countless of times, moved on to other Jay-Z collabs and eventually Beyonce's singles, and finally started reading a Beyonce/Jay-Z Buffy the Vampire Slayer AU (it's pretty good).

Fandom, it does things to you.

I really should stop reading 30 Rock reviews. I feel so upset any time an episode I liked gets a bad grade. Yesterday's double episode is the perfect example. Portions of the first half was a little slow, but I pretty much laughed like a hyena all throughout the second half. That was certainly no C- episode, AV Club reviewer! And for the record - FOR THE RECORD, Liz has always been a dick. This isn't news. >:(

Last night's 30 Rock made me think of Change of Plans for some reason...


Apart from allusions to horror porn, the video also contains spoilers, just FYI.

On a different, also awesome, note, lilly_the_kid posted a really cool fanvid yesterday. If you haven't seen it already, you should.

Two things:

1. New Sheppard/Parrish from busaikko! Houseplants, in which there is stealthy wooing and Lorne trying, and failing, to be trustworthy. ♥

2. If you're not watching this season of 30 Rock I feel sorry for you. Aaron Sorkin was essentially mocking himself, and it wasn't even the best part!
