There's a secret shop in this chapter: Enter the far left village with a unit holding the Member Key to access the secret shop. The secret shop is the only way to obtain dark magic tomes aside from stealing them from enemies.
This chapter is the point of no return for Holmes' army. Make sure to be adequately prepared before starting.
This chapter sets the mood for the remaining Holmes chapters: hard-hitting Dark Mages, threatening witches, and numerous Dark Soldiers and Dark Knights. While the Dark Soldiers and Knights are easy to manage despite their high damage with fast units due to their horrible speed and accuracy, the Witches and Dark Mages are more of a problem, especially considering that tanking magical hits is much less feasible than physical due to resistance only scaling based on half of the magic stat.
One Dark Mage has a Janura tome, which is quite accurate and drains life, and the other has a Death tome, which will become a staple of the Cult's regular arsenal from this point onwards and has a worrisome crit rate. Having a few spare healing items or Far-Healing staves will be handy.
All of the Witches on the map have Evil Worm tomes, which have extended range and are thus unlikely to be counterattacked. The main issue with Witches is that they will warp around the map, making dealing with them very RNG dependent. Every single time they warp, it is to a random tile, and from there they will attack whoever they have the best odds with. To avoid as many random warps as possible (which can be to a corner of the map if lucky and right behind a vulnerable healer if unlucky), it's best to put units who have better odds into their attack ranges as soon as possible, as they will only warp if they cannot reach a player unit with normal movement.
Although Zeek looks rather threatening, especially if he saw plenty of action earlier in the game, he is deceptively manageable to fight. He will move around and attack units and hits quite hard, but his two weapons both tank his attack speed tremendously and have dubious accuracy. In fact, even if Zeek hit his speed cap under the player's control, he can never have more than a mediocre 8 attack speed in this battle. The simplest way to deal with him is to use Luna, which Holmes obtained only two chapter ago, which will bypass his Silver Shield for massive damage.
