Ultima Shield (アルテマシールド, Arutema Shīrudo?) is a recurring shield in the Final Fantasy series. It is Lightning's ultimate shield as the savior.

Ultima Shield is awarded for completing the Four Trials in God's Sanctum on the Final Day. Ultima Shield replaces Lightning's Night Lotus, her default shield, and has the same appearance. The Ultima Shield raises Lightning's HP by +8000, ATB Speed by +20, and has Guard Defense value of 330.

Etymology
Ultima means "the last" in Latin and many Latin-based languages. The word is an inflection of ultimus which is the superlative of ulter, which means "that is beyond".
