So maybe you’re wondering what happened to De Capulet.

I would be, too, were I you.

Well, after two years full of short string tours, long distance decision making, and trying to make things work, the decision was made to finally bow out gracefully.

Is it sad? Yeah, it is. I loved writing for and playing with De Capulet, and I'll always hold every memory we made with any of you high above anything else I had ever done up until that point. De Capulet was an amazing experience, that can not be denied. I had the incredible privilege, for the first time in my life, to start writing songs that people genuinely cared about; that I genuinely cared about.

I guess this is the point in the blog where I segue into the future, and what's to come. For those of you who, like me, are saddened by the curtain's close on the stage of De Capulet, I offer a simple line of encouragement. Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end.

I just want to keep music alive, guys. I can't let these songs die. I can't let this project die. I will continue with The Record Life from now on in hopes that you all can keep listening. Some incredible things are happening right now, everybody. I can't wait for what's in store. I hope you eventually feel the same way.

Thank you for listening. Have an incredible day, and please - Be Here Now.

Love,
Jakob

March '07 West Coast Tour Cities and Dates.

Dear all of you,

It is with the highest level of excitement, today, that I have received word it's alright for me to announce the confirmed West Coast Smile Tour (tentative title) cities and dates.

We'll be on the road with our good friends Backseat Goodbye (www.myspace.com/backseatgoodbye ), and I'd definitely recommend you check them out if you haven't yet. We couldn't be more excited about the lineup.

Now, we've been keeping these under wraps as well as we humanly could, so if any of you already know these dates, I'll not only be surprised; I'll be impressed. Almost as impressed as Mr. Burgundy was when Baxter pooped in the refrigerator AND ate an entire wheel of cheese. Almost.
Here's the cities and dates we've had confirmed as of yet:

March 3rd - Phoenix, AZ
March 4th - San Diego, CA
March 5th - Santa Cruz, CA
March 10th - Los Angeles, CA
March 11th - Los Angeles, CA

Remember, these are only the dates and cities we have CONFIRMED, so any city or date could be added between now and the 3rd of March. We're in the process of attempting to confirm at least 2-3 more cities for the week of pure lovin'.

I'll be announcing the VENUES that will correspond with those cities and dates in another blog either tonight, or tomorrow, which means you'll have to keep checking back, keep commenting our profile with as much lovin' as you can provide and all that jazz if you want to find out early. :)

We love you all very much, and we really can't wait to see you.

Peace, Love, and Cheers,
Jakob
De Capulet

P.S. Do something weird today. Remember, the world has enough normals.

P.S.S. For all of you wonderful people on the east coast and the rest of this gigantic country, don't worry - your time is coming...soon.
