1. I love Elizabeth Weir and Torri Higgingson respectively with every fibre of my squeeing fangirlish heart! XD!!! I can go on forever as to the why for a VERY long time, so if you like to know why, reply to me :D
2. I'm very much a shipper and am totally in love with Sparky (Sheppard/Weir)! They are just teh love I swear. Once again, I can talk all day about these two, so if you want to know the why, reply!
3. John Sheppard and Joe Flanigan are teh love too, same rules apply as before :D
4. I love Carson, he's such a warm and friendly character. I loved him from the start, and so glad he got bumped up from recurring to main last season.
5. Spanky (Ronon/Teyla) is also teh love.
6. I just love the humour on this show. Duet would be a great example of that humour! love that ep. And David Hewlett was amazing in it :D
7. Speaking of which... David Hewlett is teh snarky!love :D McKay is awesome!
8. I loved "The Long Goodbye" for Torri becoming a kick-ass chick with p90! :D
9. I also love how much they are willing to share with us about the show, be it with their behind the scenes features on the DVDs or tv specials, or from the audio commentaries or from meeting the cast and crew themselves at conventions and panels and getting the hot scoop straight from the horses mouth! :D
10. I love the physical environment of Atlantis. I love the design layout of it the city. The wonderful colours and textures , the tinted glass and the beautiful balcony with the amazing view fo the soft wispy cotton-candy coloured Atlantian sky. I love when they do bird's eye shots of the city after the ad breaks as well, it always looks breathtaking. I love the look of the puddlejumpers inside and out and I just love the actually Stargate itself. A nice glowing neon blue when activated and the new digital dial-up of the gate is always fun for me to watch as well.
i could go on forever, but this will do for now :D
much love!

In no particular order
1. The fact that TPTB weren't afraid to shake things up if they didn't think something was working. Demoting (for want of a better word) Ford from regular to recurring and giving him a really meaty story line was a great idea. Siege III, Runner, The Lost Boys and The Hive were all great episodes for Ford's character. I would have liked to have seen more, but that does not take away from how much I loved what they did do.
2. On the flip side they premoted a character that had been intended to be used as a recurring character and made him into a regular one. (Carson)
3. The fact that we do have recurring characters that we like and can respect. The fact that the secondary characters are there to do more then just make the regular characters look good. The fact that they just as capable as the some of the regulars.
4. The fact that the writers will kill off a recurring character. The death of a character who we have come to konw and like (or maybe even love) makes the impact of that persons death all the real. If something is suppose to a kick in the guts, it is much more so if we know the person who dies.
5. The DVD commentaries (other then ones with PD) It is so much fun to listen to those and hear about all the stuff that went on. They really are hoot to listen and well worth buying the DVDs for that alone.
6. The humor of the show and how it woven into the stories. At times it is very subtle and you don't always get the first time. Lines like "They just keep sending them in..."
7. The character intereaction. I just love the way that John and Rodney act like a pair of kids in the universe's biggest toy store. Sheppard wants the guns and Rodney wants all the other neat gagets... I also love the way they will tease each other and then stand up for each other and fight for the other.
8. The writing. Both the stories and the dialouge.
9. The jumpers. I just think they are cool. And I loved the joy we saw on Sheppards face when he was first flying them.
10. The fact that this show is NOT SG-1. John is NOT Jack, Rodney is NOT Sam, Weir is NOT Hammond. Don't get me wrong, I love SG-1, but I don't want SGA to be a clone of it. I don't mind crossovers or connections, but I don't want it to a carbon copy. I want SG-1 to be SG-1 - I want Atlantis to be Atlatnis...

10. The comedy. John and the line about the clowns. So funny. And plenty more of them sprinkled around.
9. The comic visuals. John trying to break a stick over his knee after seeing Teyla do it...and failing.
8. The slash factor. Come on! John and Rodney have better chemistry than anyone on the show.
7. The writers unspoken acknowledgement of the slash factor. Really. Bimbo of the week anyone? There's *never* a serious
contender for John or Rodney's heart because it's already taken
6. Strong women. Teyla, Elizabeth, the hive Queens. All ready to bust your ass at a moment's notice. As a woman I love
that even if Elizabeth is dead boring.
5. Atlantis itself is so cool. And why the hell haven't they investigated the rest of the city? Sheesh. I would. Maybe
there's a weapon or knowledge to be had.
4. The Wraith. Yes, they make awesome villains. Yet, in a strange way understandable. Don't we slaughter countless animals
to feed our human population?
3. The freaking Stargates man. Not just stepping through but the amount of light years traveled. Now that's mind bending.
Calling Stephen Hawking!
2. Joe Flanigan. So adorable. Make's me want to pinch his cheeks while tying him down to a bed.
1. David Hewlett. Nothing refined just a total body lunge at the man. Okay, so who wouldn't?

1) The writing. Although some episodes are better than others, overall there is a snark and humour amid the darkness that I really enjoy. Humour amongst the horror. Kind of like life.
2) The relationships between the characters. Very much related to the writing, but the actors add so much that I felt this had to be a separate topic.
3) The fashion. No, I mean it. The costume designers know what they're doing. Shirts cut just-so to highlight the best of an actors...erm...assets.
4) The design of the city. I love the light that flows through the windows, the ocean feel to the place, the spires reaching for the sky. It's very gothic.
5) The Wraith. Those are some ultra-creepy goth space vampires. With fashion sense.
6) The occasional use of languages other than English. It makes the mission seem much more international.
7) Teyla. Because that woman is strong, powerful, the leader of her people, and she can beat any man in battle. And she looks great in those outfits. Normally, that "perfect in all things" concept would bother me*, but here I actually like it, because the actress (and sometimes the writers) make that whole "woman as sex object" thing work, while also making her feel human and real.
*Coupled with the fact that ALL the women on this show are Television Georgious, and yet some of the men are regular looking men. But on Teyla it works, so I forgive.
8) Cute, geeky guys. My heart melts. I cannot help it. Even the poster-boy (John) is actually pretty dorky inside. How sweet is that?
9) The fan fiction. There are some really great writers in this fandom who often take me in directions that I'd never have thought of otherwise.
9a) The books. For media tie-in novels, these things are actually pretty good.
10) Zelenka. I'd not have stopped to watch this show if I hadn't heard a snippet of Czech while flipping channels. He stopped me in my tracks, and then I couldn't stop watching. And now look at me! Yea! Zelenka!
Instead of the weekend, this week we're doing the entire week. And the topic is simple: tell us why you love SGA. Do it with a top ten list, screencaps, an essay, a bit of fic, whatever strikes your fancy.
So, come on, share. Tell us what made you an SGA fan.
