Program Notes
Slow Burn uses a 12-bar blues form to explore various 16th-note rhythms in a funky groove that grows from soft to strong. Written for a grade 9-12 band with a variety of experience levels, this piece has challenging first parts, while keeping second and third parts more accessible. This fun tune for is high schools with one band and a lot of percussion that want to keep everyone engaged.
