Program Notes

Epiphany is a composition by the Dutch composer Henk Badings. The piece is known for its rich harmonies and complex rhythms, which are characteristic of Badings' style. I Tre Re is a traditional folk song from Ticino, a region in Switzerland. The song is an important part of local folklore and is often performed by regional music groups such as the Bandella di Tremona. The melody and lyrics of I Tre Re are traditional and reflect the rich cultural history of Ticino.

Composed for the Music Festival of Uster (Switzerland) in 1981.
