Hi Clare, I've been moving orphan profiles from "Oceania, Needs Biography" to our Australian profile improvement category, https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Category:Australia%2C_Profile_Improvement_-_Orphan_Profiles and I noticed you may have added some to that category.

Can I suggest, if you find any Australian orphans that need some PI, that you add them directly to our Australian category? This is the one our Australian profile improvers often use when looking for profiles to work on.

Further to the WikiTree G2G comment of mine :" Interestingly I note that for some of the profiles with a " This profile lacks source information " attached there are indeed sources attached eg Victoria BDM records and references from Family History books [ with page details ] !!" As profile manager for William Henry Brain Brain-353, I have linked your Brain-1127 entry as a child of William and Julia. I notice that Brain-1127 has no Profile Manager. I think it is helpful to add yourself as profile manager for profiles you create, unless you have reasons for not doing so (which I would not need to know). If the latter, I can adopt that profile. The Brain family is my wife's paternal line. There are extensive further family connections in England to Tasmania - Brain Family 1744-1996, Perkins, Bev 1991, ISBN 0 646 03986 5 which I simply don't have the time to add. Hello Clare you seem to have looked in detail at Frank Shmith & Robert Alexander Shmith they are my father and half brother (respectively) I live in the UK and Frank died in 1977. I knew nothing of Roberts existence literally until this evening (Tues 18 June)!

You may already be doing this but I thought I would write in case you aren't.

I noticed your Irish brick walls, and their mid-1800's timeframe, and thought I would suggest an avenue of research that I have found productive for it. Due to the Irish Civil registry Birth coverage lagging sometimes 20 years behind in Catholic areas compared to Protestant, I have looked first to establish the full spread of the family a target ancestor left behind, via the oldest Civil Marriages I can find for that family in that district. The location key is the Irish Townland, so you must be fairly certain of that first, but the advantage us Australians have is our foreknowlege of parents names for all our States' Civil death indexes. So what you look for in the images of the Civil Marriages for a lead is the fathers name first, his occupation, then the Townland name.

Hi Clare, I see you created and found details of Walter Grove, who is my maternal great grand father. I added details in of his third marriage which resulted in two children, Eleanor (Babs) and Margaret (Peggy), who I both remember fondly.

I don't know much about his first two marriages and why they both died so soon after getting married to him (2 years). What is your relationship to him and was his 3rd wife Australian too? many thanks Graham Wilson

I Clare, have you looked at FamilySearch.org, a FREE FH site, all of your family is on this site. Make an account, sign in, top left "Family Tree" pull down to "Find" open it, see "Find by Name" or "Find by ID" open "Find by ID" copy & paste this into it 9HK9-JJQ now you'll see Lieutenant Colonel Frank Leon Outtrim 1847-1917on left press name, will ask " Tree" or "Person" open person, now you can see his information, at top list "Sources" where info was found. Go to bottom of his page, you'll see his wives, children, parents etc. By pressing on any of these individuals you can see their page.

This FH program is an open to any one, meaning anyone can Add, Edit, etc. anyone's info, plus add memories, pictures etc. It's one big family of millions of linked individuals, so we're one big family. Give it a try, you can copy off this site & paste onto yours.

Clare, you admin a post for John Chapman of Shoreham Kent birth and Louth Lincolnshire death - b 1853 d 1920. I am his great grandson ( directly descended via Henry Chapman. I am new to wiki tree but have done a lot og genealogy on ancestry and in person at PRONI and other archival sites. I can add some information to John's family but am having a bit of difficulty navigating WIKI.

Would really appreciate some assistamce perhaps? I was adopted so do not sport the Chapman name my email is [email address removed] I was born Christopher Chapman in Sault Ste, Marie Canada.

I see you edited a number of Humphrey profiles, so I assume we may be related in some way, most of my work is in Ancestry however I did export an older tree into wikitree some years ago, my ggg Grandfather was John Humphrey and gg grandfather was Frederick, his brothers were Henry and Herbert and one sister Elizabeth. I see you seem to be connected to Henry's side and if so I look forward to seeing there profiles updated. I have some of pictures of his side including Frederick William whom lost his life in WW1. I have just added some notes to the Profiles you have edited recently for a Marriage in 1936 between Ernest Arthur Little and Margaret Louisa Jane Rawlings. That particular marriage can NOT have ever taken place because THAT Ernest Little actually drowned aged 7 years during 1918. Thus he could never have married. We respectfully suggest that you continue searching for the correct Ernest Little and wish you all the best in your efforts. Regards Geof.

Hello Clare, I noticed that you merged James Mitchell (1895-1896) into James Atkinson (1895-1896). Can you tell me what source you used to merge those two profiles? The profile for James Mitchell previously had parents attached, an Unknown Mitchell father and Ciara Humphreys as a mother. James Atkinson has different parents. Did you discover some information, it would be great to make a note of that on the profile if you did. Thanks, Laura

To Clare - Thanks for the offer. I can upload the photos O.K. but I may have to make a profile for Charles and Susan Eastwood as I can't find one there at present. If one is there could you please notify me. (Now that I have learned how to scan and upload files I am going through a lot of photos as sometimes I am the only one who knows who the people are). There is a Martin Fogarty I have found. I can't find a direct connection but he came from Templemore in Tipperary. Where my lot came from). He was a member of the first bushranging gang in Melbourne and was hanged on the site of R.M.I.T. in 1842. Even then, the Fogarty's had a connection with education! - Peter.

To Clare - Peter Fogarty again. Hannah Jane Fogarty was the daughter of Charles and Susan Eastwood and I have photos and information of her ancestors. (There is also a book about this too). The book was entitled "Of The Family Of Abraham - The Eastwoods in Dublin Dundalk and Drysdale?"

Hi Clare, I noted on My Heritage that you have Arthur Henry Spring in your tree. He was the illegitimate son my my great grandmother Sarah Jane Spring, nee Anthony. He was born 2 years after her husband Henry William Spring died in Brisbane in 1884. I have not been able to find information about him other than his birth certificate. Sarah had 5 daughters and one son, James, who was my grandfather. I wondered if Arthur had been adopted and would be very interested if anyone can give me information about him. Sarah's circumstances were very poor as the family arrived only about 9 months before Henry died of cancer aged 34. Her children were put into an orphanage for many years and she had to work very hard to support herself. Any information would be a great help. I doubt anyone in my family knew of Arthur. Hi Clare. Just a note to say that links to Victoria BDM search results are session-based and not persistent. For example on John Charles Edney (1862-) it looks as if you have added the link

If I click on that, there is an error message "Sorry - our system is experiencing a technical problem. Please try again later. (Error code: { {errorCode} })". This error message is not well expressed! But it arises because the 5f5d57c51e980e23d5bdb9b1 code was specific to your temporary session, and will not work for anyone else (or probably even for you after an hour or two expiry time).

They have accidentally or deliberately designed their system so that there is no ongoing way to link to search results. This is confirmed at this link which says "It is not possible to link to the search results page."
