Mary Hughes was born about 1857 in Britain, daughter of David Hughes (~1834–1919) and Matilda Price (~1837–1888).

Mary (19) married Alfred Jones (1876) in 1877 in Victoria, Australia. ^[1]

Their daughter was Mary Florence Jones (~1886– ).

Mary died in 1920 in Victoria, Australia, aged 64. ^[2]
