not to keep being salty about this but it's so telling that whenever something superman related comes out, people are so eager to insert batman into the narrative whether he fits in it or not (MAWS, superman 2025). yet when batman media is coming out, i never see superman fans try to force clark into the story. batman stans are literally the "i am feel uncomfortable when we are not about me" bird meme.

Them: WHAT ELSE

Me, crying, broken: the suckers can leave hickies also they taste with their suckers 😭😭😭😭

this is insanely racist and I haven't even seen much about this online yet

after Bad Bunny won they added a Latin song category and after Rosé got three nominations the grammys added a k-pop/c-pop/j-pop category they have always been afraid of well-performing artists of color challenging white artists in mainstream categories

I mean, in some very interesting Technically Correct ways, they didn't actually die? Now, they're very much no longer alive. But the forces involved are such that they didn't get any of the usual cellular processes of death, they simply went from biology to physics in less time than it takes a signal to travel down your optic nerve.

if you go from biology to physics without dying first you don’t go to heaven the uber driver went over this

the funniest and most tragic moment in steven universe is the scene that implies that Pearl pulls bitches like a professional dog walker but doesn't know how phones work so her place on earth is being a life-changing futch fling for every dyke on the east coast there's probably a gay bar in maryland where they talk about the twiggy bird chick that eats milf pussy like it's the last edible thing on earth and they dont even know about the city full of thousand year old neon lesbian amazons who are pent up 24/7 from The War and leaving room for jesus cause they're always hanging out with their softboy nephew who might be the second coming of christ

In a single sentence, no less.

In a 4,500-word essay published in Harper’s Magazine, Emily Wilson, known for her popular translation of the Minions epic poem, blasted the latest film Thursday as a “sexless, bloodless” adaptation. “The first line of my translation is ‘Tell me about a kooky Minion,’ but the Minions in director Pierre Coffin’s film—who has said in at least one interview he was directly inspired by my work—aren’t kooky at all,” said the University of Pennsylvania classic scholar, who published a popular and highly praised translation of the 2,700-year-old Minions And Monsters poem in 2017.

🎶Highly praised translation! Kooky minions!🎵

Rewatching @atopfourthwall's History of Power Rangers has got me wondering what angle I'd take to "fix" megaforce/super megaforce. Honestly I think the solution is... surprisingly simple.

Tweak Gosei's character into a massive egotist.

He's spent years preparing for his opportunity to lead a ranger team, and he's absolutely crackers about all the zords and powers he's managed to develop in that time. He's eager to prove he's every bit the mentor Zordon was, but due to his inexperience this mostly manifests as handing out new powers and upgrades almost faster than the rangers can use them without really doing anything to help them grow as people, because they don't need to overcome the Drama Of The Week and learn to work together despite their differences: they just need this new set of Header Zords to upgrade the megazord's ranged capabilities!

Once the story reaches Super Megaforce, Gosei finally admits that he's in over his head: the powers they've been using thus far are the ones he developed, but not the ones Zordon entrusted him with. With the invading armada leaving the heroes outmatched, he's forced to finally give them access to the Legendary Morphers-- the powers they were meant to have from the beginning, and would have had if Gosei weren't so eager to prove himself.

That way they still chew through about as much stock footage from both shows, but the new zealand cast have a little more meat to work with scene-wise as their relationship with Gosei shifts, and the show as a whole can serve as a sort of meta-commentary about how the Zordon Era is often treated as innately superior to everything that came after, with the Legend War at the end finally highlighting that every team, Zordon era and beyond, ultimately stand as equals in-universe and are all worthy of the power they hold, with no one team being innately better or worse than any other. When push came to shove, everyone answered the call to protect the Earth.
