when the multifaceted life we all experience is multifaceted...
the perils of being such a complex person (っ◞‸◟ c)

People are saying that Emily Wilson went too far in her criticism of N0lan's Odyssey but if it had been me in her shoes, and that man had adapted my favorite text into a story about how Sometimes War Atrocities Make The Perpetrators Feel Bad, and turned my favorite character into some generic straight white dude while the women in the story are tortured to make him Feel Feelings, and that man then cited *my* translation as inspiration, I would be on the news.
i fully agree. let her be mad, because if anyone was to be furious about this, she's the most deserving.

Look I fully support batman’s no kill rule for his character, I understand certain characters just don’t wanna do that. But I do think we’re in a drought of DC heros that shoot people in the head. like Red Hood should kill bad people and it should be viewed as heroic, i’m sick of this rubber bullets crap. Green Arrow should murder rich pedophiles, Wonder Woman should kill as a last resort. I want a spectrum, I want variety. give me political violence in my dc comics it’s baseddddd
i fully agree. at times when it's necessary, let heroes do the most heroic thing they can in the moment, even if it means they have to kill. they're not average people going out guns a-blaze, but actual heroes who have to meet the impossible standard of achieving justice at the cost they themselves deem appropriate.
what doesn't kill you gives you an extensive vocabulary and niche knowledge set that nevertheless fails to accurately account for what happened
spiderman brand new day and the importance of care. mj not loving peter due to not knowing him, but still caring about him enough to invite him up, to draw him, to send frank to watch him, to give him advice and be concerned. ned not remembering what spiderman means to him, but trying to find him anyway to thank him. frank worrying about this kid who is determined to save everybody he possibly could. peter caring about jean grey, taking a bullet for her despite almost all his interactions with her being antagonistic, because she exists, and she deserves so much better. jean crying over peter getting shot, because he was kind and promised to be there for her and made good on that promise immediately, even though she ended up there because of him. new york and their care for spidey.
peter parker and his care for everybody- his family, his friends, people he has never met, people who have continually tried to hurt him.
spiderman: brand new day and the importance of care of any kind.
i think it also goes to show how when care is given, it usually is reciprocated in a way that may not necessarily be direct, but end up benefitting the parties with the sheer knowledge that they will be there for one another when needed.
How it feels to settle into bed and close my eyes and return to the totally made-up scenario I was last engrossed in
Yet the cowl always remains on
that cowl stands for a lot more than just the bat's morals, evidently
