by the way don't blindly label all Asian characters with blue eyes or blond hair orientalist. it's orientalist when a western show makes its only Asian or wasian representation with those traits, thus whitewashing them. it's not orientalist when an anime clearly set in Japan with an all-Japanese cast has characters with those traits

you know the backstory of how helena bertinelli / huntress' mafia family was all murdered except for her?

so in regards to that

personally i think it would be really interesting to consider and recontextualise the bertinelli massacre in a more modern context. and by that i mean, i am so curious how it would be treated in this age where true crime content is so popular for worse and for better

i imagine as a crime fighter and educator, helena already is not a fan of true crime docs and videos because of how it often comes across as monetising off other people's real tragedies, so she'd be absolutely fucking indignant if some documentary makers or netflix or some youtuber tried to hunt her down and try to make a documentary about the bertinelli murders. do not fucking treat her like a victim, as a mafia bootlicker, or her past as drama fodder!!!

as a civilian she genuinely wants to live in peace and obscurity, and as the last surviving bertinelli she wants that chapter of her life closed off to the public. she has spent her whole life trying to escape the shadow of her last name and distancing herself from the underworld and building a life on her own, the last thing she needs is a bloody scandal about one of the most horrible days of her life
