i was wondering if there's any meaning to the nubers 1-2-3-6
i think that's the first time we saw the house number (yes i'm overyanalyzing)
cw: bible mention, possible spoiler
so i pull up religious texts - ted likely was brought up in a branch of christianity, and the numbering system would match the bible, and lo and behold - john 12, 36 starts with "believe"
specifically the new international version (one of the translations)
the full quote is: "36 Believe in the light while you have the light, so that you may become children of light.” When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them."
(yes i'm overthinking this)
interpretations vary but basically he was sayin to believe in him (hope or salvation in newer interpretations) b4 he was gone, bc they kinda didn't know he'd come back (3 day return period iykyk)
and to cherish what they had b4 he was gone
more obvious if it was about him leaving at the end of s3, possible that ted's still passively suicidal and has thoughts of leaving as he did throught the seasons and likely for years, as he squished his emotions
Jack and Robby respectively
the pitt x librarian rabbot au?
jack abbot has met michael robinavitch in the er, as he did with most patients. though not all patients came with an already deduced diagnosis, masked, asking for a course of antibiotics for a disease that'd probably take a consult from infectious diseases to diagnose.
he asks if the man is a doctor, or in the biomedical field. he does not expect the reply to be "sort of" a blush, and a fumbled explanation that he's a researcher.
after that, he sees 'robby' semi-routinely - in the park, at the farmers market, in a coffee shop, ordering what has to be a crime against humanity of a coffee, and yet not once looking the barista in the eye whilst asking pumpkin spice foam on his cold brew.
being the chief attending of ptms, jack abbot has long since given up on seeing the world in black and white - except for his coffee. black for everyday, milk as a treat.
but the man has some sort of boyish charm about him, so jack shoots his shot - to which the response was more blushing (okay, that one was getting to jackand he really wanted to see more of it) and they exchanged numbers - the guy wasn't on instagram so it was old school texting for them.
and after that... jack has to say, it started nice. they'd schedule their dates around his shifts, and robby said he worked from home some days, sometimes had to travel for his research -though jack never could get a clean explanation on what the man did - apparently he finished med school, and applied for a research position instead of going the traditional route, and now was doing some sort of... linguistics research?
not that jack could complain, the other always smelled like old books and ink.
that is, until he gets a phonecall. it's robby. he sounds terrified. he says he's gonna come over - he's hurt. pretty bad. "call 911 man" "i can't".
that's how robby shows up at his apartment - half unconscious, with a crudely but effectively stitched wound - like someone tried to stop the blood loss in a hurry.
"what the hell man?"
"they didn't follow me here. fuck, should've-"
"gone to a hospital- no, sit down, let me take a look at it"
"should be fine, i'm up to date on tetanus... just had to hide out for a while"
"who did this to you"
"my work it's... it's pretty dangerous"
"as a researcher?"
"i lied about that, i'm sorry. i'm... i'm the librarian"
.
.
.
"what the fuck does that mean"
to be continued(?)
