Getting home this past weekend was horrible:
  • I got a flat driving through the Oranges and freaked out but somehow got over five lanes of traffic to the shoulder just outside of Union.
  • My car battery died while I was waiting for the repair guy...
  • ...How was super nice and took great care of me.  Followed me into a rest stop to put more air in my doughnut and wouldn't take a tip.
  • I got yelled at by a State Trooper about two minutes away from home for doing 60 in a 55 but being too slow in the left lane.  JUST before an EZ-Pass (which I have) and a doughnut on (which meant I shouldn't have been speeding at all).  Quite frankly, I didn't care that my mother called up and gave them hell while I sat there bawling when I got home.  I got home, thank God.
So I'm feeling a lot better.   I'm hurting but I'm healing.  I know it will take a while, that I will have my good days and bad days (and believe me, I've had both recently) but I'm feeling a little more like myself.  Going to see Bob before I came back to school was a good choice, I think.  He's got a new neighbor, but in general the area of the cemetery where he is is really nice.  He's close to a tree and a distance from the road.  I like it.

Borrowed three books from the library on on feminism in mythology and folklore, and The Bedtricks.  The latter is actually a little helpful; Shakespeare and Chaucer uses them in their writing as does a lot of bawdy older tales and I can totally add to my papers for my one class.  We'll see.  I just needed to do something for myself, and to get me back on track for writing.

Alright, I moved in on Tuesday and have since then been so busy squealing with utter delight that I haven't been able to post.

As I type this, I'm munching away on grapes and chevre in my room.  My suite is just...OMG, bbs, it's beautiful.  tarasquad_x and I just can't get over how gorgeous it is and how huge our spaces is.  The bathroom looks like it's from a hotel-marbled tile and walls; we each get a cubby in there which is sort of cute.  The rooms (individual), are a great size; it's just about the size of my room at home, but with lots more shelves and a wardrobe.    The only downside is no wireless within the room and no cell service-I'm solving this by  taking calls with my bluetooth and looking like tool in the process but whatever.  And afraidofhippies is just a floor below, so we can just pop up and down the stairs near our suites.  Last night we all went for free Coldstone Icecream in the student center and laughed at kids dressed up for the Vampire Party (who the fuck picked that theme?!?!)

The new roomie is actually super sweet.  We're all getting along fabulously (glad I was wrong about my roommate again but this time in a good way!) and the two of us have a class together.

Classes are 3/4 awesome.  French I will be a breeze, African American Women Writers is with my prof from last semester so it's just going through the motions with different course materials.  Third World Women will be a little more difficult, but Lib and I have it together, so we should do okay.  I just have to OMG INTERVIEW A WOMAN FROM A THIRD WORLD COUNTRY WTF.

And Chaucer? People, I want to be this woman.  We were looking at a diptych of Richard II and she starts quoting Talladega Nights. :D  I also will get my experiential credit ( a must in every class at 'Po) by going to Medieval Times or Spamalot.   I love her already.

In other news, I'm pulling out the outlines for my fics and getting back into that, as well as doing a bit of research for some original ficition I'm starting to piece together.

Awww...

Today was my last full-time day.  The day started out with Em bringing in bagels to say thank you and by God, I ate a whole bagel.  By myself.  I cannot remember the last time that I did that.

All in all, these past few months have been really fantastic, and have taught me so much. BUT NOW I'M BACK AND CAN FINALLY START BEING AROUND ON LJ WITH A LITTLE MORE FREQUENCY.  BBS I'M BACK!!!

He took my hand, twirled me, and I couldn't help but laugh in a way I haven't for a while.  I could not have cared any less that we were on a stage and there was a whole theater of people watching.

Won't read into it, just enjoy that moment.
