Commander Amy Huchla
Services Division Commander
Commander Amy Huchla serves as the Services Division Commander for the Temple Terrace Police Department, bringing more than five years of dedicated service to the agency. A proud Temple Terrace native, she began her career as a Public Safety Telecommunicator and quickly advanced through the roles of Trainer, Training Coordinator, and Supervisor before being promoted to Commander in 2025.
In her current position, Commander Huchla oversees a wide range of essential support functions that ensure the efficient and effective operation of the department. She also serves as Chair of the Employees for Employees Committee, reflecting her strong commitment to supporting colleagues and fostering a positive workplace culture.
Commander Huchla’s passion for public service is evident in her daily work, from her leadership within the department to her active participation in community events. A graduate of King High School, she went on to earn an associate degree in communications from Hillsborough Community College.
Known for her enthusiasm, leadership, and deep connection to her community, Commander Huchla draws inspiration from the dedicated team she serves alongside. With the love and support of her children and family, she approaches every challenge with professionalism, dedication, and heart.
