Is LJ working? DARE I ATTEMPT A POST?

My birthday was pretty nice. dutchesschaotic's family took us all out to see Insidious (which was terrifying and delightful) and then we had Indian food, which I haven't had in ages. It was awesome. 26 doesn't feel too much different from 25, but mostly because I'm trying not to think about it. I also got a surprise $50 check from my grandma, yay.

Nothing else has been of note, really.

I'm bored, SPAM ME WITH GIFS AND LET'S MAKE IT A PARTY.

In other news, I posted Ned at the_blank_slate (I WANT ALL YOUR TAGS) and I plan on bringing Olivia in some time next week. So excited.

↘ I'm newly in love with Mitch Hewer thanks to flareupwithlove linking me a clip of Maxxie on Skins and me proceeding to watch Maxxie-centric episodes. Ugh, Maxxie, the things your fabulousness and pretty mouth do to me. I even made a wallpaper strategically, so I get sex eyes all the time now. (Even when I have a video file or IM window open, he peers over the top at me. It's awesome.)

↘ I had like, five promising icon posts open in tabs and was all ready to upload new icons, but I only found one I really liked. Bummer. Speaking of icons, I have a few recent posts at ancientgate that I never linked to.

↘ Spent today with my sister as she got the SUV appraised. The dealership would take it off her hands for 10k, but she still needs 2k upfront. Plus, her BF is stuck in Kansas City. He'd originally flown out there with his uncle so he could help him drive his car back here, but apparently the guy at the shop had been lying to his uncle and the car is nowhere near ready. So they're stuck until he has money to buy a ticket back. It's been so quiet in the house lately, with just us girls here.

↘ I've had bizarre dreams lately. Last night, I dreamt I was at a con and ran into the Glee cast, then managed to get interviews from them. Before that...God, I forget, but it was epic in a Jurassic Park kinda way and involved the Glee cast somehow.

↘ Watched Slumdog Millionaire for the first time last night, and ended up watching the ending about five times in a row. God, it was perfect. Am also a little in love with Dev Patel, now.

↘ Added to my long, long list of TV shows to watch: Alias, Eureka (catching up), Royal Pains, Sanctuary (catching up), Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Six Feet Under, Skins UK (giving it a second chance), Warehouse 13.

↘ I'm sure I had more to talk about, but I have a post to write, tags to get to, and blog stuff to take care of before I give in and play as much Dragon Age 2 tonight, as I'll be at Jordan's all week.

↘ Oh, no, one thing. I made an appointment with a clinic tomorrow morning, to look into birth control and seeing if I qualify for Family PACT, which is a program that provides (hopefully, for me) free women's/reproductive health care. Free birth control if all goes well, yay.

↘ OMGGGGG, this cover of Teenage Dream by The Rescues is insanely gorgeous (especially the drums in the last 30 seconds). They also do one of my recent favorite love songs, My Heart With You.

DOES ANYBODY ELSE HERE WATCH LIGHTS OUT??

Half the reason I wanted to take part in Girls on Screen was that it was a place I could react to/review this show, which is easily my new favorite of the season. But I don't know anyone else who watches it. :E My review for tonight's episode is up, anyway.

"But it's a show about boxing!" you say? Well, Justified is a show about US Marshalls. Sons of Anarchy is a show about a motorcycle gang. Not an excuse. :D

Also, apparently Girls Read Comics Too is one of Gail Simone's favorite blogs. Um. How did we get here?

We’re a diverse group of ladies passionate about the small screen, and this is home to our collective rants, raves, swoons and snark. bzzinglikeneon came up with the idea for the blog , and I'm happy to be a part of it. The shows I'll be reviewing are Archer, Fringe, Hawaii Five-0, Lights Out, Parks and Recreation and True Blood (when it comes back). At least with this, I'll be able to actually talk about the TV I watch and give me some kind of reason for the hours and hours I spend on all of it. :D

↘ Do you guys have any favorite recipes? Healthy or not, single person, family, whatever, I just want some ideas of stuff to cook and try out.

↘ I'm so ready to go crazy. I'm tired, I miss Jordan, this is the most stubborn child on the goddamn planet, and his dad has no concept of parenting (ie. routines, bedtimes, etc etc) beyond giving him a spanking if he does bad, which makes everything that much harder. Getting him to sleep last night took an hour, at least he skipped a nap today and will probably pass out early. I hope.

↘ Did I mention how when my sister left, they took both sets of car keys with them? I've been trapped in this house with — what the everloving fuck, he is hanging off the couch leaning on his head on the floor he is going to KILL HIMSELF and I will probably be happy about it and get some quiet — a three year old since Friday.

↘ I'm so tired.

♠ Can anyone think up fruits that aren't tart? I'm trying to snack healthier as I find a healthy diet, and I've realized fruits are the way to go. The only problem is, I can't eat more than a few bites of tart fruits like apples, strawberries, plums, etc. But I can't think of many fruits that aren't tart either. All I've come up with are bananas, pears, melon/watermelon/cantaloupe and mangoes.

♠ Twilight: Eclipse is on TV, and it makes me laugh every time my brother-in-law watches it.

♠ I swear I had other stuff to say, but I can't think of anything.
