Bad thing: my internet appears to be possessed by a malignant force who just wants to mess with me. Good thing: I have passed my Open University module, whoo-hoo! And relatedly, a good chunk of this month's reading was prep for my next course, which is on children's literature. (You get points if you can guess which. There may or may not be cake.)

It is December! It has actually kind of been December for A WHILE now. However, I finally have my rather pitiful booklog for November...

Sunset Song - Lewis Grassic Gibbon )

The Singing Sands - Josephine Tey )

Accelerando - Charles Stross )

Detection Unlimited - Georgette Heyer )

I also read some poetry and a bunch of textbooks, but I don't think I could review poetry and I am absolutely sure that my pontificating about my textbooks would be boring and take longer than I have right now, so consider yourselves spared. *g*

Also I haven't seen the latest Good Wife yet - mostly because I have a standing agreement not to watch the episodes for the first time without Herr Professor, which hasn't been able to happen yet - but I have been seeing HINTS OMG and oh god flail. Especially briefly but not very spoilery stuff on the last few episodes )

And the last Community episode was absolutely perfect in pretty much every way, and that is all I have to say about it. ♥ COMMUNITY ♥

Oh and also: I am not in bandom, but omg, THIS IS THE BEST CHRISTMAS SONG AND RELATED VIDEO OF ALL TIME AHAHAHAHAHA. It has single-handedly put the festive back in my festive season. I may be listening to it on repeat until January. It is amazing. Hee.

I went to Connotations! It was really fun - I love fans, I love fans SO MUCH. There was some hilarity and I also got to go for a swim followed by a sauna and plunge pool, which I thoroughly recommend. Especially since jogging is currently Right Out, it was perfect. And there was hugging, and a free copy of Tooth and Claw by Jo Walton, and did I mention FANS? Aw yeah.

NCIS: spoilers up through 9.03 )

I missed Ada Lovelace Day, but I think this is a really lovely tribute. To you, all ladies who geek!

I leave you with the best vid ever. I don't think anyone in the vid show on Saturday night was left dry eyed at the end of it. *g*
