MARVEL TELEVISION: THE CONUNDRUM OF THE MCU

Sometime between the release of 2018's "THE AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR" and 2019's "THE AVENGERS: ENDGAME", Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige made an announcement that stunned a good number of Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) fans. He claimed that the ABC series, "MARVEL'S AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D." was never part of the franchise. Not only did this news stun a good number of fans, but me as well. ( Collapse )

"THOR" (2011) Review

My knowledge of European-based mythology is very sketchy. I am familiar with some figures of both the Greek and Roman mythologies. But my knowledge of Norse mythology is even less. As for the many characters from Marvel Comics, I barely knew about any of them - aside from "SPIDER-MAN", until the past decade or so. One can only imagine my surprise when I learned that one of Marvel Comics' more successful super heroes was the Norse god, Thor. ( Collapse )

Seven to eight years ago had overseen a busy period for the Brothers Grimm. During that period, there have been two television shows and two movies that featured their work. Last year, Sony Pictures had announced its intentions to add a fourth entry to the MEN IN BLACK" movie franchise. I have to be honest. I did not receive the news with any real enthusiasm. And my feelings had failed to change when I learned the identities of the movie's two main stars. ( Collapse )

"THE SOKOVIA ACCORDS: A NARRATIVE BLUNDER"

Three years ago, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), along with Marvel Films and the Disney Studios, introduced to the world the thirteenth entry of the movie franchise, "CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR". Although the movie is officially regarded as a Captain America solo film, many moviegoers and critics tend to view it as an unofficial Avengers film.
