For some reason this is advertised as a bisexual song, which doesn't make sense, because pansexual is more "everyone" than bisexual is? Anyway, blue fire is considered the hottest, and Valentino is not just sexually attracted to the blue member of the Vees, but appears romantically into Vox too. This fits him to a T.

I also tend to believe he understands more Spanish than he lets on. As Rihanna's character in this song correctly knows what "te amo" means, but tries to avoid admitting that she does, so does Vox likely with the depth of Valentino's feelings.

A part of why I chose this song is actually to do with the fandom's reaction to Velvette being confirmed a lesbian by the creator. I was one of the ones who headcanoned her as that ahead of time, so I was simply happy. Other people didn't, but were happy for more lesbian characters in Hazbin anyway. Then there were the people who didn't think she should have a close relationship with two men unless she was fucking them.
Velvette's personality would definitely be to dunk on those people. It's not a phase and she will not change. Because, in fanon, people can do whatever they want, but it's weird as fuck when anyone says people can only have close relationships with other characters because they are having sex.

On to my Pride headcanons! First is aromantics: which I like to think both Velvette and Valentino are. Where Val only uses romance as a tool when it comes to his work and to trick people, and the only person he likes getting it from is Vox as a demiromantic. Meanwhile, Velvette is grey romantic and the few times romance ever comes up for her is a surprise.

This is a song explicitly written about being intersex. Intersex is often overlooked in Pride. The Pride flag was updated to include them, yet people continue to use the version which doesn't.
While Sinners aren't human, and therefore I don't think can show intersex characteristics as we know them in humanity because of their inhuman forms, I headcanon that Valentino was intersex during life. Congenital anorchia. Something he was judged for in life, but no one can judge anymore in death.
Val not understanding what intersex is (at first; Velvette likely explains to him later), but being accepting of it because it doesn't get in the way of him enjoying his sexuality, is important to me.

A part of why I chose this song is actually to do with the fandom's reaction to Velvette being confirmed a lesbian by the creator. I was one of the ones who headcanoned her as that ahead of time, so I was simply happy. Other people didn't, but were happy for more lesbian characters in Hazbin anyway. Then there were the people who didn't think she should have a close relationship with two men unless she was fucking them.
Velvette's personality would definitely be to dunk on those people. It's not a phase and she will not change. Because, in fanon, people can do whatever they want, but it's weird as fuck when anyone says people can only have close relationships with other characters because they are having sex.

On to my Pride headcanons! First is aromantics: which I like to think both Velvette and Valentino are. Where Val only uses romance as a tool when it comes to his work and to trick people, and the only person he likes getting it from is Vox as a demiromantic. Meanwhile, Velvette is grey romantic and the few times romance ever comes up for her is a surprise.

This is a song explicitly written about being intersex. Intersex is often overlooked in Pride. The Pride flag was updated to include them, yet people continue to use the version which doesn't.
While Sinners aren't human, and therefore I don't think can show intersex characteristics as we know them in humanity because of their inhuman forms, I headcanon that Valentino was intersex during life. Congenital anorchia. Something he was judged for in life, but no one can judge anymore in death.
Val not understanding what intersex is (at first; Velvette likely explains to him later), but being accepting of it because it doesn't get in the way of him enjoying his sexuality, is important to me.

six things.
Jul. 7th, 2026 02:55 pmstraightforwardlyOver the past few days, Iâve been having one of those moments where I want to post about so many different things that I become paralyzed with indecision about what to tackle first, and then donât write any posts at all. So, in the interests of clearing out as many of the links and notes in my âdw updateâ writing document as possible, Iâve decided that Iâm just going to tackle all of the âsmallerâ things Iâve been wanting to post about in this entry, and then figure out things from there with the âbiggerâ things.
Predictably, most of these things are Scum Villain-related, but not everything!
One. So, I think Iâve mentioned before that I keep a spreadsheet tracking my reading (both original & fic), gaming, watching, etc. I may have also mentioned before that I keep a physical reading/media journalâmostly dedicated to writing down my thoughts about the books I read, but it also contains some tracking spreads and monthly wrap-ups, and at some point I started doing quarterly wrap-ups as well.
One of the things I include in those quarterly wrap-ups is a list of my âmost readâ (usually top five) fandoms for the past three months, as determined by the number of individual fics read for them. Over the weekend, I was compiling the stats I need for the quarter that just ended, andâwell. These were the results:
Two. Over the weekend, I finally read the new Scum Villain extra for the first time. My full thoughts on it definitely donât count as a âsmallerâ thingâIâm hoping to write a full post dedicated to that at some point, because I definitely have many, many thoughtsâbut I do want to bring up something related to it, namely, MXTXâs afterword.
Or, more specifically, my discovering that MXTX refers to Scum Villain (the novel) as a âlively little grasshopperâ.
I instantly wanted to cry, in the best way. Thatâs so adorable. And itâs even cuter in context: ( more beneath the cut )
Three. Related to the aboveâas someone who loves subtle fannish merch, my first thought upon discovering that MXTX describes Scum Villain as a âlittle grasshopperâ (after, of course, having a meltdown about how cute that is), wasâI need art and accessories featuring grasshoppers now. So I immediately went on Etsy, and⊠found that pickings were rather slim, at least according to my criteria. I ended up narrowing my search to âgrasshopper necklaceâ, but most of what seems to be out there is either cartoony in style or colored in a solid silver or gold, neither of which was what I was wanting.
Along the way, I did come across this gorgeous lunar moth necklace, which is pretty much exactly what I want in terms of both style and color. Just. Itâs the wrong insect, lol. (Though still quite pretty... and I do like moths.)
Four. This morning, I came across this Scum Villain fanvid: âSpoken for meâ by sapin7 and just have to share it. It does use common character design elements that I dislike (namely, Binghe being given bestial traits), but even so, itâs still very good. The way that the creator matches the images on-screen with the lyrics sent me down such an emotional rollercoasterâI swallowed down so many urges to scream while watching.
Five. The other day, while playing a nonogram-style game on my phone, I was shown this ad for Merge Teahouse. Now, Iâm not going to be downloading this gameâboth because Iâve placed a blanket ban on myself for phone games that incentivize daily logins, and because phone game ads are notorious for not having any real resemblance to the actual gameâs vibe and storyâbut I was very struck at how perfectly calculated this is to appeal to my interests.
We have: a FOX who has taken human form (complete with cute ears and tail!), hurt/comfort with an emphasis on blood, implied pining, devotion won through a past act of kindness that the FL may or may not even remember, a ML who looks hot and cool and powerful but acts pathetic and cute around the FL* (including him taking down their enemies before giving the FL puppy eyes and going on about how ~scared~ he was!!), clear femdom potential, both the FL and ML clearly being competent in battle, the FL using a swordâŠ
I would read that novel, is what Iâm saying. I would play that visual novel. I would even consider watching that show. In short, that is the kind of ship I could absolutely lose my mind over, in different circumstances.
(* and yes. It does not escape me that Bingmei also has elements of this character trait. What can I sayâI like what I like!)

2. Gosh, I love Murderbot. I listened to Platform Decay (I am not going to return it. I am going to play it over and over until the library seizes it back. Sorry, next person in queue). How much I love this series always affirms my place on the ace spectrum and gives me hope that a compelling story can be told without a romantic component.
3. The DW book club book selected was Midnight at Malabar House by Vaseem Khan so join us at https://bookclub-dw.dreamwidth.org/ on 31 July for discussion. I have started it and am enjoying it.
4. I have 2 jigsaws going. My Inspector Rebus one and a small sushi board one that is very fiddly and is taking much longer than anticipated.
5. Minor ran a 10k on July 4th and placed 2nd in his age group (under 19) and won $20 (!!!). Cash prize! I am proud of him.
6. US out of the World Cup. My boys' father's favorite, Brazil, is also out. But he is still enjoying it.
7. I am going to set the weekend for trying to see if I can make my own BTS photocard to give out at the concert in August. If you've ever made your own photocards, PLEASE let me know any tips or resources. I got a book on Canva and I'm going to go to the Makerspace at the library to see if they have any ideas.

I say "also called," but you won't find the bird in the dictionary entry for prothonotary, only in the separate prothonotary warbler entry -- even though clearly it's the more important sense. I mean, look at that gal, she's gorgeous. Admittedly the bird is named (an Americanism dating to the 1780s) after the clerk, after the yellow-hooded robe that some types of prothonotary clerks wore. The clerk was so named in English from the middle ages, from Medieval Latin prĆthonotÄrius, from Late Latin prĆtonotÄrius, from Byzantine Greek prĆtonotÄÌrios, from prĂŽtos, first + notĂĄrios, secretary/stenographer, both from Ancient Greek.

BTS is on their world tour, in the European leg, now in London after performances in Brussels and Madrid, and their set list includes a space for two songs (different for every performance) from their discography. The second performance in Brussels this was one of the songs which is new to me, but I learned was one of the first that SUGA produced. Here's a performance of it from 2017 and we get Mint Hair!SUGA, which, as every ARMY knows, is the best SUGA.

ALTToday’s Ship Sunday is LĂșcio/D.Va, also known as Bunnyribbit, from Overwatch fandom.
LĂșcio and D.Va are both playable characters in Overwatch. LĂșcio is a famous musician and D.Va was a well-known streamer before being conscripted into the army. They don’t have much in the way of canon interaction, but game dialogue suggests that they know and admire each other.
Fanartists love to draw them with frog and bunny motifsâbecause D.Va had a bunny as her screen icon and LĂșcio wore a shirt with a frog logo on itâand in their 1950s inspired game skins. Fanwriters love to write them in fluffy, cozy stories where they look after each other.
