Double the podfic, double the fun
I recently posted mine and my partner’s podfics for OFMD DoublePod! This is an event that pairs up podficcers to record the same Our Flag Means Death podfic and put both versions in the same AO3 work.

Pioneer Podfic
I don’t talk about it much here, though I probably will more now, but I have an AO3 collection that invites people to add the first podfics for a fandom on AO3. I made it in 2020 and it current has almost 700 works in it, which is awesome. I recently made a DW companion community for it so I could house some new participation badges I made. You can see them here!

There’s been some chatter in the podfichat discord about them, plus some awesome suggestions for new ones and ideas for other challenges I could run alongside the collection, and I’m so happy people are enjoying them ^^

Fanmix Exchange



I'd been hoping for a proper AO3 fanmix exchange for ages (to a degree where I was considering running one myself) and now there is one, woohoo!!! fanmixexchange is currently in its nomination stage and is also looking for a co-mod experienced in tagmodding. I can’t wait to take part and have already started on my letter. I love finding new music through fanmixes! :D

First, I must apologise. Either DW glitched or I clicked ‘Mark All Read’ by accident, but I’ve been chatting with several people in comment threads for a while when my inbox suddenly went from 60+ unread to 0. The stress of finding everyone again in my admittedly disorganised inbox is too much at the moment, unfortunately. Thank you so much for every nice comment/reply. I won’t be able to keep those conversations going or say thank you directly, though I appreciate you and am very sorry. You are of course very welcome to poke me RE responses!

Moving on. I’ve been working with perler beads more recently. It’s relaxing (apart from when my cats want to get involved, ahh) and I have lots of plans. I’d like to make a perler bead version of every Pokémon I have as a plush and/or finger puppet. I’d like to make a perler bead version of (most of) the shinies I’ve caught in games too. I've also bought some special ironing paper that makes them glittery that I've yet to try. I also want to try to improve their edges by trimming them so they're square like pixels but haven't found the courage yet in case I mess up. I'm not sure if it's necessary but it would also be cool to try putting resin on them to make them super shiny.

Finally, Sapphic Summer 2026 is happening right now! It’s a really fun little fest, with works needing to be 100 – 250 words. The idea of needing to make a fill to leave prompts is really doing it for me ^^ Come and join in the fun! I’ve made four little podlets so far and am having a blast.

The discord has opened for this year's main voiceteam round. I’m on team Wild Things!

I’ve previously made lists of personal goals for the event, and for battleship too, and I really like having something to work towards alongside the usual challenges, so I’m doing it again ^^ Some of the goals I previously didn’t manage have returned.

ONE: Record as many podfics about robots/androids/AIs/cyborgs as possible
Originally, I thought to aim for 100% of my pods to be robot related, but I don’t know how possible that is, so it will still be fun to aim for as high a percentage as possible. I’ll work it out at the end and see how high I got :P

TWO: Record more femslash
I’d love to increase my F/F output by any amount. Getting it to half the amount of my Gen works would be amazing, but incredibly ambitious—64 new femslash works? Definitely possible, but probably not before the end of May 😆 So to go with something more doable, I’ll aim for having 69 femslash pods by the end of Voiceteam. Hey, it’s a nice number!

THREE: Write something
I don’t write much these days, and many Voiceteam challenges lend themselves to writing something new, so this is just a little extra push to myself to give it a go.

Other Stuff
I'm hoping to put together a March and April event roundup soon, but I’ve hardly worked on anything recently. That will change once Voiceteam starts, but it’s interesting how my fannish energy seems to go up and down so much these days and is and usually wholly based on what events I’m participating in at the time.

Tomorrow I'm being interviewed as part of a research study on ASMR. I did an online survey a while ago and was invited to be interviewed based on my answers, so that's exciting. The study is looking at whether a Highly Sensitive Person (something I hadn't heard of before the survey, but is apparently a Thing and a thing that I might also be) is more likely to consume ASMR content and why, which is awesome. I can already foresee me talking their ear off now I get the chance to share my ASMR thoughts with someonne, especially with how it's changed since developing tinnitus, and I can't wait to read their findings once they're available!
