The McCall Center for Civic Engagement oversees Pacific University’s Civic Engagement core requirement and works with students, employees, campus groups (such as athletic teams and clubs), and community partners on co-curricular civic engagement activities – e.g. service, advocacy, fundraising, and more.
No matter your interests, skills, passions, or access to resources like time or transportation, we can help you find a way to get involved. We host events on the Forest Grove campus, share opportunities in the broader community, and partner with a wide variety of different campus units and student groups to help you put on amazing civic engagement events of your own! I believe there was a program that came out of Pacific University/Forest Grove that was called Shared Outdoor Adventure Resources, or SOAR. Do you know about this program and what became of it? I wanted to direct a disabled friend to check it out. Thanks, Jim Boucher 503-473-5970
Hello Jim,
I don’t know if anyone ever replied to this comment, and if not, I apologize. I’m not familiar with SOAR, but perhaps it is connected to Adventures Without Limits, which is a non-profit in Forest Grove that works to make the outdoors accessible to all. Good luck!
Best,
Stephanie
