This is for a team-based music competition, and I have stepped up to a challenge to do a song around the theme of redemption. Redemption has been resonating with me, because it's very much where I am on my personal Hero's Journey, midway through healing and recovering from a heavy grief...

https://suno.com/s/FzDX47VKNNrsu4UC I spent a whole lot planning and effort into getting this meaningful anthem of a song done, so I've decided to wait until later until planning and fussing over what the cover art is going to look like.

I found something so adorable and sweet at a local thrift recently... Unfortunately, the custom voice recording that was put into this big and soft, huggable Pikachu was briefly present after I first discovered it. But I still remember how assuring and soft, and full of care this guy's message was when his kid still had this Build-a-Bear Pikachu: "Hey buddy, it's Daddy... Want to let you know, wherever you are, I'm never far away."

This dad loved his child so, so much! My heart sank when I first noticed the voice recording couldn't be heard anymore. I guess, in my inspiration for this new character along with his adorable plush Pikachu (bigger and better than the plush Pikachu I once had), that spirit along with the recording has just been absorbed into me.

Just from this recording alone, I know this new character is a loving, comforting, assuring, soft-spoken presence. This Pikachu is meant be, in the songs, as an "Everyone's Dad" type. I'm so lucky to have found him. <3 Welcome home, Pika Dad!

(Mood: Gentle. Soothing. Warm. Supportive. This big Pikachu plush and Fox are meeting each other for the first time. This Pikachu introduces himself and naturally starts treating Fox like she's his daughter. Genre: Singer/Songwriter, Acoustic guitar. The voice for the new character, Pika Dad, is to sound warm and friendly. He would also sing soft and sweetly. He doesn't need to raise his voice for any reason, especially not when he thinks his newfound kid will need a hug.)

It's about time for the next song with the AU Roxas! My self-insert Fox and Naoki will also be in this one. It will be dynamic and suspenseful stuff!

A back and forth conversation between closest friends — Fox's unease and dawning realization as she processes finally hearing the mysterious voice in her dreams clearly for the first time. A young man's voice, urgent and desperate, comparing her heart to someone she knows. She thinks hard, cycling through possibilities — it must be one of Sora's friends. Naoki listens carefully, steady and present as always, keeping his protective worry quietly managed beneath calm reassurance. He's heard about these dreams before and kept mental record each time, unable to do anything concrete about them — and that helplessness sits underneath everything he says. Neither of them knows that the voice from Fox's dreams is already on his way. The emotional tone is tense but tender. Two close friends sitting with something neither can fully explain yet. Sequel song idea to "This is Gunpla"... While Fritz was being friendly, understanding, and even a little diplomatic, Naoki is just not impressed at all with Freedom. He was being a little too judgmental, too quickly, lol--and he's about to call the unbuilt Gundam model out on it! XD Mixing the absurdly funny dialogue with things that actually happened while I was just starting the building process! (Almost losing a polycap piece, and a plastic torso part I clipped went flying into the side of my bed just after I had just clipped it free from its plastic gate, haha.)

(Mood: Fox is aiming to focus on starting to clip out the parts for the first step of putting Freedom the Gundam's disembodied voice always lingers near. Naoki is looking over the unbuilt plastic model action figure, unimpressed and has some words to say... Genre: Progressive Rock with dramatic, theatrical time-signature changes and jazzy keyboard playing. There needs to be robo vocoder voices for any backing vocals on Freedom's singing parts.)

I'm going to go ahead and get out what has frustrated and pissed me off so much yesterday. What really got me in a mood.

I'm still disappointed at the friend who's been a selfish and stupid bratty fair-weather person towards my mom and me. According to her "logic" it's WRONG to be concerned about not having our things stolen by her incompetent and dishonest man child of a son, and for our good rep from the current landlord to be reduced to shit!

Also, my cautious hope of ever visiting Pumpkin, Sam, or Xena--it feels like that got fucking squashed. All my hopes of seeing them and playing their songs, they keep getting diminished, no matter how cautious I get! I've been hating that so much, and it's out of THIS frustration that leads to this next song...

(Mood: Fox wakes up from napping on Naoki and starts to freak out. After having taken a long nap, she's starting to worry if there's enough time to come up with a convincing, believable alibi to tell her mother. Fritz has to speak and help calm her down, assuring her that there is a plan. Naoki's not wanting for Fox to go into a panic, calming her down so he can understand what she's worried about, and why. There's tension and stress going on between the characters. Genre: Emo Psychedelic Rock and Cinematic hybrid! This music needs to be fitting to go along with the characters' spoken dialogue. Noaki is seventeen years old, teen vocal for him. Norman is eleven years old, child's voice.)

A little weird how my Fox character sounds a little childish, but I suppose in a way towards this part in the story arc, she'd be as scared as a scared little girl... The music box parts are really interesting to me, along with the sung melodies from Fox.

Now, it's time for the sequel song to "A Wild Bicorn Approaches"! Naoki-muse and Bicorn together in this song, and possibly my self-insert persona will have parts in this song too.

(Mood: Naoki is in a fury that the Bicorn had injured Fox (me), what's his to protect. The Bicorn will go from vicious and bloodthirsty to pleading and begging not to be killed. I don't actually want the demon horse to be killed off either--just hard enough of a bonk and a bruising to get him recruited to be at Naoki's command. Genre: Nu-metal, Rap, and Emo Rock blend)
