So I went to the midnight premiere of The Last Airbender last night! Overall, my feelings about it are definitely more positive than they are negative. I'll be honest, I'm not sure yet that I can definitely say that I liked it; however, I'm seeing it again on Friday when kyatto gets down here so I'll have more organized thoughts after that, I'm sure.

In the meantime, I do have some more detailed commentary about my feelings on the film, Collapse )

And that's it, kids! I'm likely to have more thoughts later on this, so I'll add them in if I do. I'd be more than happy to discuss any of this with anyone, but I do want to avoid spoiling anyone, so if you comment and there are potential spoilers, could you put it in the subject line of your comment so people know to skip over it? Thanks guys!

(Alternately, you could just IM me, and I'll geek at you.)

Sorry for the double-post, guys. I wanted the other one to just be about A-kon. :)

I saw Watchmen tonight *_____* I. Don't even have words. I'm going to have to think about that one for a while.

I'm on a Sandman binge. I want to cosplay this version of Death that I am looking at right now.

My windows are opening and making my windchimes chime :D

WARNING comic-bookfaggery ahead

So there was this secret on fandomsecrets tonight...

And first of all, YES, YES, SO MUCH YES. I've been saying since I first saw Batman Begins that I'd love to see Robin re-imagined in this world, especially considering how dark a character Dick Grayson is (though oddly, nobody I know seems to agree with me on this. idk).

Of course, fans, being fans, made several good points for why they agreed...

But apparently Nolan and Bale have both said that they refuse to do a movie with Robin in it. wtf?! Why? Because of the shitty Joel Schumaker (or however you spell it) versions of him in the 90s? Uh, hello, you redid the Joker, you redid BATMAN, why is Robin stopping you?

And anyone who doesn't think he'd fit into this version of the story is just... an idiot. Or doesn't know anything about it. This is a beautifully-written commentary on his character and it's all true, and just emphasises why he should be a part of it.

...Okay, I'm done now. ♥
