header 1 header 2
cell 1 cell 2
cell 3 cell 4

I have previously noted this as a reponse but here it is a separate question.

Since the Stacks Editor was released to all new answerers we have seen a surge of answers that are just a markdown table. Like what you see in the beginning of the post: 2 by 2 with default headers and values. This is the basic table you get when you click the table button in the new Stacks Editor.

Some times there is a very slight but insignificant alteration, like maybe it says "cell" instead of "cell 1" but ultimately it is the default table and nothing but the default table. I am not talking about somebody maybe attempting to answer but clicked the table button and their post ended up with something significant and a table. No, I am talking about posts that are only a table.

This happens quite frequently. Usually on a daily basis. All instances I have seen are answers from brand new users who post for the first time. Thus they would all be forced into the Stacks Editor.

Here are the examples from my original post:

https://stackoverflow.com/a/79490212

Random formatting with no substance - tables, quotes, code.

https://stackoverflow.com/a/79490838

Random formatting, just a markdown table with default values in it.

https://stackoverflow.com/a/79491976

Random formatting, just a markdown table with default values in it.

Note 1: Yes, the first example is a bit more than a table. It is two tables and random formatting. It is an extreme outlier, though - the vast majority of table posts we have had since is like the second and third example.

Note 2: I have not collected newer examples because they all look the same and it would be a waste of my time.

In my original post, I also have a few examples of questions that include random tables. They do not only contain a table but do contain a table that definitely is not intended. And the unifying theme between the questions is that they also went through the Stacks Editor (via the question wizard, which some users were also forced into).

All this is a strong hint there is some sort of UX issue with users of the Stacks Editor and tables. It has to be investigated and try to remedy it.

Just checked that editor in an answer: there is a button to create a table, and the table is automatically removed when all its data are deleted. This behavior looks perfectly native for me. Also, there is nothing near that button which makes the post to be published. So, Stack Editor doesn't seem to lead to users posting table-only answers. Instead, such posting was intention of those users. Commented Jul 12 at 9:36

@Tsyvarev as I said - people have seemingly been adding tables to their posts before the new editor was released for answers. There is definitely an element of users being unable to use the formatting. I cannot easily distinguish which posts are intentionally like this and which not. But I do know that SE have decided to turn a blind eye to the feedback I've given in the feedback thread. So, I'm re-raising this as it was requested by me. I honestly don't have much hopes SE would do anything at all. Commented Jul 12 at 9:44

"There is definitely an element of users being unable to use the formatting. I cannot easily distinguish which posts are intentionally like this and which not." - The thing is that your examples look more like intentional usage than problems in using formatting. All 3 exammples are from 6-7 March, immediately after the feature is released. And 2 of 3 users have registered at that time. Also, 2 of 3 those answers has a comment about "please stop post this rubbish". I understand that all these signals may be wrong, but still.. Commented Jul 12 at 10:05
