So, Ancient Arrows. These things are capable of insta-killing lower class enemies (provided you don't care about the loot). However, insta-killing bosses (any enemy whose health bar and name appear at the top of the screen when you fight them) seems just a bit overpowered. I assume they do a set amount of damage (probably a lot) against bosses, but exactly how much damage?

As you may already know, Ancient Arrows deplete ⅓ of a Guardian's total HP and instantly kill them if hit in the eye.

Damage done to bosses doesn't seem to be a fixed damage value, but rather depends on your Attack values:

  • Ancient Arrows normally add 20 fixed damage to your bow's base damage

  • If you have Attack Up or Bone Atk. Up damage multipliers then first your bow damage gets multiplied and 20 will be added on afterwards

  • Ancient Proficiency multiplies both the bow's damage (which can be stacked with Attack Up) and the extra 20 with 1.8, so it will basically adds 36 instead of 20

  • The base damage of any bow will get the x1.8 multiplier if you use Ancient Arrows

  • Do all Guardians have the same total HP? Commented 6 hours ago
  • @Blue-Blimp No, but all guardians of the same type do. All dilapidated guardian stalkers have the same amount, all functioning guardian stalkers have the same amount, all guardian seekers have the same amount, and so on. I'm assuming pinckerman is referring to functional guardian stalkers, as they're the ones most players think of when you think "guardian". Commented 5 hours ago
  • @Hearth I’ve never heard the term guardian seeker before. Do you mean the flying ones? Commented 5 hours ago
  • @pinckerman do ancient arrows do 1/3 damage to all guardian types regardless of how much hp they have? Commented 5 hours ago
  • @Blue-Blimp Yes, I'm pretty sure those are called guardian seekers. I might be misremembering, though. Commented 4 hours ago
