There's something about Merry

So, here’s the deal. I’ve accepted a job that requires me to move to another state. So I’m looking to cut down some of my storage space by moving some stuff on.

Nothing is priced; make me offers.

All orders MUST be finalized (paid for with correct shipping addresses etc) by 5pm Thursday 24th of September, AEST.

Bands include, but aren’t limited to: The Gazette, 12012, MUCC, lynch., Merry, One Ok Rock, Nico Touches the Walls, JYJ, U-Kiss, CNBLUE and Sex Pot Revenge and GemCerey items.



On to the items!

On the off chance that anybody is still looking at this community, I thought I'd over a few updates, if only so that they're here for history's sake.

I. NOnsenSe MARkeT
MERRY has a new album! It's available in three types.

Limited edition Type-A comes with a DVD that includes footage from MERRY's live at Zepp DiverCity on May 24, 2014, a performance from which Tetsu was absent due to still recovering from his spinal injury. It also comes with a poster if you order it from CDJapan, but I think those are out of stock.

Limited edition Type-B comes with a bonus CD that includes acoustic and live tracks. I believe there are 11 tracks in all.

Regular edition just includes the CD, which has 14 tracks, including their singles ZERO, Fukurou, and Gunjou.

MERRY's official YouTube channel has short previews of all tracks here.

I think the Limited edition versions might both be sold out at CDJapan, but you can probably find them on Amazon Japan.

II. ガラカルテ (Garakarute)
Gara's new book just came out! It's about his spinal injury (very common in MERRY...) for which he took a break from MERRY in 2009 and for which MERRY took a hiatus in 2013. It has this hilarious cover:



How to make a generic figure into Gara? Add a hat.

There's also a poster of Gara's back that comes with the book, possibly if you order through certain vendors? I'm not sure. It shows what appears to be his surgery scar.

III. Bo Peep
This isn't MERRY news so much, but I recently debuted a MERRY fansite, Bo Peep, which I so surreptitiously linked above. (Hey, it was that or find three different CDJapan pages, okay?) It's only a few days old, but it contains links to lyrics, interviews, live reports, and so on, including some stuff from this community. I'm still slowly going through this community to see what else I can find. My hope is that MERRY fans will be able to check one site instead of ten or twenty for all their MERRY needs.

If you've ever translated anything for MERRY or written a live report, please let me know so that I can either link it or host it (with permission and credit of course) on the site.

IV. Lyrics Translations
Karou has posted a translation to the new album's title track "NOnsenSe MARkeT" here.

I've posted a translation of track 13 "Unreachable Voice" here, as well as Japanese and Romaji lyrics. It's my first lyrics translation, and my Japanese is rather poor, so feel free to give me corrections.

I hope there are still MERRY fans somewhere out there in the LJ wild!

I've got a copy of the BURST EP, a really rare old fan, CORE mags from 2004-2011 (plus some of the folders), the Cheki Merry book, and a lot more for sale. The band will be going on a temporary hiatus due to Gara's back condition, which seems to have flared up again...

Thank you for supporting MERRY all this time.

As vocalist Gara will require treatment for a persistent lumbar disc herniation, MERRY will temporarily pause activities after the 「devour」 live at Shibuya-AX on February 13.

After a series of consultations and treatments with a specialist, it was determined that his condition had worsened. As a result the MERRY members and staff have decided, in the best interests of the band, to temporarily halt activities in order for Gara to make a complete recovery. He will undergo medical treatment and surgery during this period of time. Please understand that this decision was reached with much difficulty.

All lives and events that have been announced up till now shall be held as planned.
During this break the other members will continue activities to their fullest extent.

This activity pause shall remain in effect until Gara has made a full recovery.
We apologize to fans and all involved for the inconvenience and appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Gara's comment: I can only sing, so until I am able to return to the stage again I will devote myself completely to my treatment.

This is all frankly unexpected and quite shocking since Gara seemed to be in fairly good shape last year, no lack of smiles throughout recent shows... However the rest of the band has assured us that this is a positive break and they will be back even better than before, so the only thing to do now is hope for Gara's swift recovery!

Originally, I was just cleaning out my personal collection, but I will start selling items for friends here in Tokyo as well, so the list will be updated every now and then. About 80 new items have been added, and there have been a few cancellations of orders, so I took the liberty of creating a new post.

First Press! 2 Disc limited edition. Comes with a bonus 3rd disc of Rendez-vous.
Excellent condition. No marks on either discs or case. Has a fold out insert. The 2nd disc is a DVD with behind the scenes and some awesome footage of the band's July 21, 2007 free concert in Yoyogi, including an amazing performance of Blind Romance.
