I haven’t really been posting lately. Though it’s true I’ve watched lads films lately that is not th entire case. I have watched a few films here and there and just didn’t log it here. Nothing personal, but I’m still here.

It has its moments but for the most part this is a movie that just never seems to connect with me. Cool concept, but it’s dated and full of jokes that fall flat. Cute idea though.

I think there is a cultural disconnect happening in this film. I suspect that they were trying to satirize ganguro fashion by comparing it to black face. I also suspect they were also trying to excuse the racism behind the depictions by also comparing the characters to another strange trend in Japan where some people try to model their look after 90s era film depictions of Hispanic Americans.
